This is the exact opposite of what should be done. What it says to fans is "hey guys I know Im dull as shit. I want a charismatic opponent so my fight is worth watching". If you aren't confident in your drawing power then why would any fan buy your fight? Its the same principle as walking up to an attractive woman and talking to her. If you have no confidence in your ability to gain her interest then she is going to shut you down immediately. Conor and Floyd understand this principle and that is part of the reason why they draw. Their confidence is so visible that it comes off as arrogance or cockiness. Thats the right way to make money in the fight business. When they show that they believe their value as a fighter is high people want to watch them. If your strategy is to beg for an opponent that will carry the fans interest then nobody is going to care about you because you are basically telling them that you aren't worth caring about.
