This is the exact opposite of what should be done. What it says to fans is "hey guys I know Im dull as shit. I want a charismatic opponent so my fight is worth watching". If you aren't confident in your drawing power then why would any fan buy your fight? Its the same principle as walking up to an attractive woman and talking to her. If you have no confidence in your ability to gain her interest then she is going to shut you down immediately.

Conor and Floyd understand this principle and that is part of the reason why they draw. Their confidence is so visible that it comes off as arrogance or cockiness. Thats the right way to make money in the fight business. When they show that they believe their value as a fighter is high people want to watch them. If your strategy is to beg for an opponent that will carry the fans interest then nobody is going to care about you because you are basically telling them that you aren't worth caring about.

Saying you want a big fight purely for the money isn't the greatest way to sell a fight.

Wonderboy/Woodley is a "Money fight" to me. Because i'd pay my money to see it. Not fucking Woodley/Diaz lol.

I agree with both posts above.

Yeah but look at Nate. He called out a money fight.

And now he's bigger than ever before

    So you're wrong sometimes.

There's like 3 chicks that I used to go to high school with who have more followers on IG than Wonderwoman. No one knows who he is.

Nate at least did the call out correctly saying he wanted to kick Conor's ass. He didn't go about it like Woodley or Alvarez by basically outright saying they want an opponent that can draw so they can get paid. Its ok to want that but talking about money and how another guy can help you make it comes off terrible.

Judging people on their social media following is the #1 tool for measuring their popularity. That and how much their name has been typed in google.

    Not kidding.

So whoever got the most followers on instagram or whoever's name has been typed the most in Google per division should always get the next shot?

I don't like money fights. I only watch free fights. Bum fights on the street, that type of shit. MMA is just like gay porn but with underwear. Yeah only homosexuals like that MMA shit. Dudes just laying on top of eachother.

That's funny seeing how Conor calls people out all the time.

The point of putting the camera in front of someone is to try and get control of one's on destiny. The easiest way to become a king is to kill one.

Pffft... Woodley asks for money fights because he knows full well it's one and done.

Where did I say calling someone out is bad? My point is coming from a position of low self worth while calling someone out is bad ie "please let me fight Nick Diaz so I can make some money" is not the way to do it. Conor calling out Aldo saying "im the king of this division, Jose's running scared" is the right way to do it.

There's different ways to go about it. Nate said Conor was taking everything he worked for. That made it personal. Eddie said he wanted an easy fight like Conor or Nate. He took the pure trash talking root by insulting their fight prowess.

Woodley? He called out a guy who hasn't won a fight since 2011. Everyone knew what he was doing, it was transparent as mountain spring water.

He has 92k followers on IG so I highly doubt that unless you went to high school with some exceptional booty.

How do you decide which fighters you're going to troll btw? It seemed like just the big talkers (McG & JJ) but WB doesn't fit that.

I was starting to get interested in Woodley's Fights, until he called for a money-Fight. It made me think he was ducking Thompson. Lost interest.
