Sanchez vs. Melendez was one of the best fights of the year, hands down. Everyone I was with was freaking out, and when Diego dropped Gil at the end of the 3rd, we all lost our sh*t!

I know there's a million threads like this already, but I had to throw in my 2 cents and claim this as one of the best fights I've ever witnessed live!

When everyone settles down from tonight, Jones vs. Gustafsson is FOTY.

God damn son! that up there with best fight ever! never mind of the year. Fucking Sanchez man.....nobody has the warrior spirit like that guy. It's so impressive. Melendez was more skilled and doing better but love when Diago says fuck this shit and goes balls to the wall. I think if it was 5 rounds Diago might have finished him. Fucking guy is so tough, and mentally tough it's insane. And Melindaz is amazing so doing it against a champion guy. I hope Dana gave them a nice fat check because they fucking deserve it.

Sanchez/Melendez was entertaining, but so are most of Leonard Garcia fights. It wasn't exactly a technical battle. It was a fun middle fight in an otherwise middling card.

Absolutely, I loved Sanchez vs Melendez and as soon as it finished I had no doubt this was my pick so far for FOTY

Impressed with Diego's chin, impressed with Gil's accuracy. Impressed with both fighters' nonstop engaging plans.

One thing that drove me nuts in with the exception of the end of the 3rd round, Rogan's comments pissed me off about Gil. He said, "Here's another 'wild' exchange between the two fighters." Watching it live and then rewatching the slowmo replay, Diego does go for the wild lefts and rights. Watching Gil, though, in those moments, he's all but 'wild' and sloppy. It's like he lives for fighters coming at him 100 mph. He was blocking and pretty much had 100% accuracy in all those exchanges. It only looked sloppy because of Diego's style. But Gil was connecting like crazy. That wasn't a "wild slugfest" at all.

Gotta love both these fighters. Leave it to Diego to get more fans with every loss he has. That's great to see there's still fighters out there not coming with a safe game plan to get that guaranteed title shot.

That being said, Wand/Stann for FOTY.

It was a great fight but IMO Jones Gus gets the nod because it was a 5 rounder and because it was Jon Jones nearly losing.

Wrong. Melendez stayed in the pocket and swung for the fences just like Sanchez did. Both stood there and neither man was ready to take a step back. That

Great fight, but it surely was no Gustafsson vs Jones.
