So I got a new phone. 0$ with a two year contract. I payed an early upgrade fee because my contract for my last phone still had 6 months left. I also went over my data limit for the month. I get my invoice and it's 270$.

That's fine that is what I expected. So I call fido and tell them I want to put my fido.dollars towards my next bill.

Nope sorry you can't.do that they say. You can't pay any.fido bill with them and you can't use it for the early upgrade fee.

I'm thinking wtf? What can u use it for?

They say accessories or if the phone.cost money u can put it towards a,new phone, but not if the phone is 0$ with a contract.

Every phone company knows 99.98% people are not going to buy accessories on their website. It's just a scam to get you to resign after your contact is up.

If you can't use it for your bill and don't want accessories you can't use your fido.dollars.

This is their plan so when your contract is up they can say "hey you got 50 fido.dollars why don't you put that towards a new phone. A scam to get you to resign. Most people will think "hey I won't get 50$ signing a new contract anywhere else and resign.

Now most phones are more than 50$ so chances are you will be paying even more for the new phone.

So I saved my fido dollars for 2 years and I'm not allowed to use it on anything but accessories. Can anyone say scam?

Fido.dollars is money you earn from being a fido customer. Usually about 2-3 dollars a month.

It's basically also a deterrent to resign with a 0$ phone. If you got 50$ u can't use on anything else then you're tempted to.use on the new phone, which means you won't be getting a 0$ phone. So now they have u resigning and paying for a new phone. Unless the phone is 50$ and basically none are.

It's darn dirty tricks I tell ya

Should have read the fine print, man. I'm also a fido customer and have used my fido bucks towards a new phone a couple times now. I essentially get 2-3 fido bucks everytime I pay a bill.

Better than getting nothing at all. I think they are great actually. How is this a scam?
