Brilliant move on their part. Using their positional leverage to reduce viability of an already dying sport in order to lower the purchase price further. Makes me respect their ingenuity, strategic thinking and resourcefulness as business moguls that much more. That's why the Ferittas have been able to take the UFC to where it is today while lesser beings like Sakakibara, Björk Rebney, Tom Atencio and Scott Coker get creamed.

He decided that he liked it so much that he would like to buy it. He then voted against it so it would be temporarily banned, so that he could get it for cheaper.

The motivation behind the obviously made up story of how Dana brought the Fetitas the idea of buying the UFC makes a lot more sense now.
