I wanted to learn something about Carol Reed, the lady who directed the 1949 British noir film, The Third Man, only to discover that Carol was no lady! He was a dude, and no bender type either.

This inspired me to investigate how such a name as 'Carol' could be a guy's name, and what I uncovered is terrifying.

Females have been steadily taking over male names for some time now.

Check it. The following used to be predominantly boy-names, now they are overwhelmingly girl-names.

Meredith
Beverly
Kelsey
Kennedy
Sydney
Taylor
Morgan

It would be boring to go on longer, but you can see for yourself.

And it's not an even switch. Hardly any names are switching from dame to dude. The exceptions are Donnie and Frankie.
Eventually, guys are going to be needing a superscript or some other signifier to identify their name as male.

Now I'm sure you are all as curious as I was about the name of you-know-who. Well, here's the dope.

"Dana is predominantly a girls name, with 78.36% of Danas being girls, and 21.64% being boys. In the United States there have been a total of 53161 males named Dana, and 192498 females given the name."

I wouldn't be so offended if Discovery wasn't such a shit show and a slap to the face of long time star trek fans

Boys used to also wear pink, and girls blue

Look at every single one of those names you listed....would you ever name your son one of those names? Thanks and calm down now.

This is a good thing

Women want what men have, is common.

They should keep Lindsey no man should be called Lindsey.

I have no data to back it up but I feel like Cameron has shifted solidly from a female name to a male name.

But yeah, it's weird how many guy names are now female names. I know it's short for Charlotte but Charlie as a girl name always throws me off

Carol is just Carl/Karl/Karel, I would assume, maybe I'm wrong

Also that list you gave

"Meredith
Beverly
Kelsey
Kennedy
Sydney
Taylor
Morgan"

The bottom 5 are definitely male names, but Meredith and Beverly?! Wtf
