Wow Verdejo poured it on late and knocks him out before the end of the first
turn out the lights...
the party's over
Wow! We missed that easy KO money, boys. 5-1.
Caught him cold.
Jesus. I walked away to get my good chair and when I came back it was over.
Trying to get ready for KingRy, Haney, Loma, Tank, etc.
I'd say give him a step up in competition and let him fight Richard Commey or Mason Menard next and we'll see how he can come back
I love me some Verdejo. Glad the kid seems to be getting his shit together.
Happy for Verdejo, but id like to see him perform like that against a top ten just to erase doubt.
same, I'd like to see a comeback, particularly the way Verdejo seems to have done it, but I'm hestitant to call it definite. I'd like to see him fight the winner of Selby/Kambosos or Mendy or somebody at that level next
This was the beginning of the end as Ward rightly pointed out on commentary. Verdejo flashed his jab as bait and correctly anticipated a jab in return as Madera predictably mirrored him. I like to call this monkey see, monkey do. Madera stepped in to get into range with his jab but left it out there and Verdejo capitalized by walking him onto his uppercut after a quick outside slip. Had Madera stayed away from the ropes and out of the corner he may have survived the round with only seconds left on the clock. Slick work by Verdejo.
Selby-Kambosos only a couple of weeks away now.
Kambosos sounding very confident. Says he sparred Selby about three or four years ago at Wild Card and had him running for his life. Kambosos is confident he will KO Selby.
