How long does a fighter usually need to train in order to be in tip top shape as a reserve for a potential fight later?
 
Can't wait to see him fight again, even if it's not UFC.

Depends on what shape they are in before entering the training camp. It could be anything from several months to a couple of weeks.

He said himself that he wants a werdum rematch, so let's see what happens, I'm thinking a top 8 UFC and then if he wins in dominant fashion he gets title shot

Like rampage said about Roy on TUF, once that belly is on them they can't get out. :D
