Fedor started slowing down at 33, GSP retired at 32, Jones is 32..

Every fighter in the history of MMA has begun their decline 10 years, or shorter, fighting against elite competition. It eventually catches up with you.

The mileage is what's important.

LMAO @ GSP still being in his prime. He beat a one eyed
washed up middle weight who'd just been ko'd by Silva, and smashed by Hendo. GSP looked like shit in that fight as well, he was gassed out in the second round, landed a hail mary punch on a guy with no chin.

Bisping no chin?? At that point he'd only been KO'd twice and both of those were by the hardest hitting TRT fuelled MWs in the game.

Fedor was fighting for 9 years and was undefeated. He would go on a bad losing streak from this point, many believe he should have retired undefeated.

.

That's because fans care more about legacy than most of the fighters do. The fighters are in this to make as much money as possible. Fedor's made a shitload since then. Jones will do this too. Even GSP who claims he only wants fights for his legacy, cherry picks fights that bring him the most money with the least amount of risk.

I agree with your take on Fedor showing signs of losing it during the Rogers fight. I've always felt that Fedor's last great performance was the Tim Sylvia fight.

Anderson was 60 years old himself with 40 fights on his record. Yeah actual LHWs, one of which had just lost the title. The only MW GSP fought was half-crippled and half-blind on the wrong end of a 700 fight career. Because GSP never had the balls to go up and challenge Anderson. Or Weidman or Rockhold. Or to stick around after beating Bisping and fight an actual contender. He ran like the coward he is.

Anderson is a dick pill addict who ducked Jones and Shogun in his prime while fighting guys like Irvin, Forrest and Bonnar. Called out smaller fighters like GSP and Connor, quit from a leg kick, that’s cowardly.

I mean, you kinda forgot the obvious difference in that GSP and Jones, unlike Fedor, didn't start LOSING.

You can say they're having worse/harder performances if you'd like, but they're still winning against these top 5 fighters. Fedor went and got finished 3x in a row by non-top 5 fighters.

Fedor starting fighting in the US, GSP was still at the top of the game and retired for reasons other than not being one of the best anymore.

If Anderson ducked those guys, what do you say about GSP who never went up once? And at any time he could have gone up to challenge Anderson but didn't. Because he's a chicken shit.

And he would have gotten caught with PEDs if Hendricks hadn't beaten him into retirement.

GSP lost to Hendricks and then fled during the USADA era even though Dana and everybody else said that he owed the fans, the belt, and Hendricks a rematch

Time stamped:

Say what you want about Dana but he was absolutely right here

exactly...people actually believing GSP was clean is a bit ridiculous. clean as everyone else.

Except he had stepped foot in America before that and didn't lose. And the 3 guys who beat him all tested positive for PEDs. 2 of them had been in the same org as Fedor and lost to the guys Fedor beat. Fedor declined like a normal man does at that age, and other guys got better using PEDs. As soon as Henderson was off TRT he went from being a KO machine to getting KO'd in a minute, and losing to Bisping.
Fedor Zulu'd Big Tim but he looked like he started to slow down against Arlovski. Arlovski basically gave him that win due to a poor fight IQ.

Fedor lost after 9 years and lost to B grade UFC middleweights and heavyweight dropouts.Jon Jones undefeated for 12 years and counting

WE DONT DESERVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only fighter to be retired and still fighting at the same time.

Fears only God himself.

Justin Gatlin won the 100m world title aged 35 in 2017 and got a silver aged 37 in 2019.
Just because Jones is 33 in July it doesn't mean he's done and Gatlin has an even worse record at failing drug tests than Jones does.

Yes, because they are exceptions to talent in fighting they are exceptions to biology in aging.

Fedor's fight with Brett Rogers, he struggled. Of course he was giving up some 40 pounds of weight, but he always was the smalller guy and it never bothered him in the past. He looked slower, weaker and unmotivated. He still dominated every second of the fight and KOd the guy but this was the fight that was an eye opener for us Fedor fans, that he is beginning to slow down and becoming reckless. Fedor was fighting for 9 years and was undefeated. He would go on a bad losing streak from this point, many believe he should have retired undefeated.

GSP retired at the young age of 32. He did it after he had a tough fight with Hendricks which many believe he lost. He was dominated in that fight in every aspect of the game. He slowed down too and with usada looming around, it was time to call it quits.

Jones will be 33 this years and he too seems to be slowing down, allowing the rest of the pack to catch up with him. He looks very beatable now, he was arguably beaten in his last two fights. Should he retire undefeated?

Goats retire or start to lose steam at young age! 32/33 is that age.

except for Anderson who ruled the world till 38.

Men reach the athletic primes in their early 20s. Athletically he is way past his prime.

More like pissed hot 12 times and counting.

At least Fedor lost to legends.

Jones lost to an old MW nobody way smaller than him. He got outstruck.

Fedor lost to an old MW LEGEND ON TRT, same size as him. Hendo won via lucky punch after getting knocked down in an open brawl. You don't brawl with the H bomb unless you are Fedor.

Jones lost to a green nobody in Reyes.

Fedor lost to a BJJ legend in Werdum and a GIANT on TRT in Bigfoot.

Fedor - drug free

Jones - pissed hot pretty much every time he pisses.

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART:

Fedor lost while FIGHTING, Jones lost playing it safe only to be saved by the judges.

All these guys started young so by the time they reach their early 30s they've already had over 10 years of experience. Compare that to DC or Couture who started in their early 30s.

lol yup matt mitrione, antonio silva and ryan bader are legends.

Pride never drug tested.

Fedor nuthuggers are funny.

If I remember correctly, Fedor didn’t “dominate every single second” of the fight against Brett Rogers. It was a long time ago, but I’m pretty sure he ended the first round on his back with Walmart fists coming down at him. Correct me if I’m wrong of course

tell me this is fake. Its the gayest thing ever posted on sherdog.

Africans age better.

Jones is the in the tile of this thread?
{<huh}

Fedor slowing down?

He didn’t s slow down he just went from winning to losing as soon as he stepped foot in America

He went from winning to getting tko’d by light heavyweight
Fedor beat Coleman (UFC Champ), Big Tim (UFC champ), Arlovski(UFC Champ), Brett back to back, in America.
Go study your history noob.

Yeah. 4-7 Takase was a beast. Too much for Anderson
Even Pride leftovers like 0-5 Hunt went to become UFC contenders.

Well GSP retired. He got dominated by Hendricks in every second and every aspect. Took the gift decision and retired young, so he wouldn't lose again. Still retired.
Jones arguably lost his last two fights, the judges gift him 2 decision wins in a row.

Fedor starting fighting in the US, GSP was still at the top of the game and retired for reasons other than not being one of the best anymore.
I'm pretty sure being dominated by Hendrics is one good reason.

Fedor lost after 9 years and lost to B grade UFC middleweights and heavyweight dropouts.Jon Jones undefeated for 12 years and counting
Fedor beat 10 UFC champions.
Jones lost his last two fights against MW journeymen.
