Chael likely has a lot of respect for Fedor. He seems to have high respect for the guys who act like their genuine selves inside and outside of the cage. Fedor is the literal definition of that.

Sonnen trash talked Fedor to his face, and Fedor still treated him like an old friend nonetheless. Sonnen's going to do what he does to sell the fight, and he also realizes that it's going to mean absolutely fuck all Fedor.
