Locked FEAR THE WALKING DEAD (Premiere Sets Cable Record)

Anyone been watching that z nation. Im finding it fun but fuck the acting is bad.

I watched 2 episodes of Z Nation.

Here was my initial reaction to seeing the first episode.

Just saw Syfy's new zombie series Z NATION.

Show is sooo bad. It's full of bad acting, laughable dialogue and ridiculously silly moments. It's like the Sharknado of zombie shows. Lol at super fast zombie baby.

When DJ Qualls appears at the beginning, you already know what kind of show this is.

The zombies here are fast. The infected turns very fast, like only a few seconds, similar to the World War Z movie and 28 Days Later.

One thing that is great about Z NATION though is that it makes you appreciate THE WALKING DEAD even more.

Pretty much sums it up, i do enjoy cheesey movies and tv shows for some reason. I also laughed at that zombie baby. When it was alive it could barely crawl, as a zombie it run like usain bolt and seemed to grow a few inches in height must of been shane carwins kid.

Z Nation's world is a much tougher post-apocalyptic world than TWD since,

1. The turn period is very fast, like just a few seconds.

2. Some of the zombies are capable of running very fast.

3. Even animals become zombies like the dog in the 2nd episode. Imagine a zombie pack of rats or a zombie flock of birds.

Zombie birds = humans extinct.

Im really looking forward to a show what BBC is bringing out its called I Survived A Zombie Apocalypse.a seven-part hourlong horror/game show that will trap eight contestants inside a shopping mall, surrounded by the walking dead. The contestants must live by their wits, make difficult decisions, and use urban survival tactics to avoid the lethal bite of a zombie.

If done right could be an interesting watch.

I've read about that zombie reality show also and very much looking forward to watching it.

I'm surprised a U.S. production hasn't made a similar zombie premise in the past. Last year, we got Whodunit (a murder mystery reality show where contestants die each week) and Capture (a Hunger Games type of competition).

Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey have been cast in the pilot for The Walking Dead companion series at AMC, created by Robert Kirkman, on whose graphic novel The Walking Dead was based, and Dave Erickson. Adam Davidson will direct.

The untitled Walking Dead spinoff, aka Cobalt, takes place during the same zombie apocalypse depicted on The Walking Dead but in a different location. It revolves around a male divorced teacher and a female guidance councilor. Dillane (Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince) plays the woman’s son, who has battled a drug problem. Aussie Debnam Carey plays the woman’s ambitious daughter.

This is the second consecutive pilot in which AMC has cast Debnam Carey; she also was in Galyntine. She made her American movie debut with this summer’s Into the Storm.

Well, I've lost all interest in the franchise lately. Big fan of the comics since 2006, but I stopped reading after issue 120something. I just fast forward through new episodes of the show. And the telltale videogame series is awesome, I just have little hype for a 3rd game of it.

Maybe if the all-original spinoff is great, it might reignite my love of the medium.

So it is a prequel, so no zombies or post apocolyptic world? Who fucking cares then? You can call anything a Walking Dead prequel at that point and just attach the name to get views.

My thoughts exactly. Sounds like its just gonna be some random show.

Fuck it, combine the worlds.

Walking Dead prequel + Breaking Bad spinoff = Profit

its during the same time period just in a different location

I must say the last episode where the zombies got into the ridallin and viagra was pretty funny, but the rest of the show is just bad. They follow a more traditional TV format with the cast, very small and no integration of new people, they have removed characters but they haven't replaced them so it makes it hard to believe they will be killing off anyone else.

Well i'm assuming they'll start just as the "outbreak" starts to happen and go from there...which I actually think would be pretty cool if done well.

In the opening post:

"the descriptions hint heavily that the story takes place in a pre-apocalyptic Walking Dead world."

I'm assuming the outbreak is to be considered the apocalypse but maybe I'm reading that wrong.

They can't even fill the show they have now with interesting characters and story.

Well considering the popularity of the show it must be doing something right. Maybe it's just not for you.

That's just a guess at this point, as is mine, but it could START in the pre apocalyptic world where those descriptions could apply and see how these people deal with the shit starting to spread, etc.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that a walking dead spinoff is not just going to be a standard family drama with nothing related to zombies happening at any point

I was wondering the same. From the description it just seems like a show about some families which may hear news about the world ending and strange things happening around the world and stuff like that but no zombies would appear or maybe some would at the end of the show.
