Ilia ran away from all the challenges at 145. He beat all the old men then dipped lol. And before anyone says Volk is the champ, ilia beat a compromised Volk just coming back from a concussion. Volk deserved a rematch on proper rest, Lopes deserved a crack, Movsar deserved a crack. Jean Silva wasn’t far away. Ilia ran away from his legacy and now he’s making demands at 155 lol.
He’s 5’2, the weight cut isn’t destroying his body let’s not get dramatic lol. Ilia is using the weight cut as an excuse, he’s just following the Conor playbook. He wants an accelerated path and wants to be a megastar within 2 yrs, getting the 155 belt and beating Islam is the way to do it. I don’t blame him, but don’t allow yourself to be manipulated by his words.Ilia decided it wasn’t worth destroying his body for and decided to fight in his natural weight class and look for the biggest challenges which is a very admirable thing

Yea i do think he is the best figting nerd. Its hard to pinpoint but he has a very natural and intuitive sense for fighting. We also havent seen him even bothered in the cage yet. People here will always argue on the lack of resume because thats the most comforting way to look at it, but as far the eye test goes, he has the look of a champion forsure.I'd favor Ilia, sure, but do we have seen JS not playing so far?
He has been so superior that he does funny, spectacular and weird shit all the time.
Fights laughing and seems so relaxed as it gets.
Maybe this is him and his style and it cannot be viewed as "he's barely trying".
Or maybe, once he clenches his teeth and takes a fight seriously, his game goes up a notch or two.
While you are right to some extent, beating Islam is a much taller task than beating Eddie Alvarez. Beating Volk, Max and Islam in a row would be quite a feat. But I agree, he is looking at the shortest path possible. He’s 5’2, the weight cut isn’t destroying his body let’s not get dramatic lol. Jean will be moving up in his future I bet
He’s had troubles making FW
Don't have any info, but he's not tall (1'70) and never looked too shredded in the weight-ins.
I know he got his boxers off last time but I think it was because dude is batshit crazy, he looked perfectly fine and able to drop another pound if needed.
