Favorite soundtrack from a video game

cmon you all know it's diablo

btw whatsapp with the yellows all the time, is it a popular thing or what

Of the past couple of years, DMC5 by far.

Devil Trigger, Bury the Light, King Cereberus theme, & Cavalier Angelo theme >>>>

Morrowind is really good, the game was amazing, not perfect but quite the experience...

Streets of rage 2 is a classic, Zelda games, dark souls...

While I can't pick a favorite I can name a highly underrated soundtrack...

Ori and the Blind Forest...
Ori is a game i've been wanting to try for years, it looks amazing, i don't have an xbox though

A lot of good ones mentioned already.
The timesplitters games always had solid music also.

both games are great, the second one plays differently but in a good way. I got the collectors edition on the Switch and i'm sure it's digital for all platforms. Play them!

*edit:
GTA Vice City. I could just create a folder of music and have it as a radio station in cars. :)

that was such an awesome touch, flipping on the radio station and listening to See You Next Tuesday while murdering! and more normal things...

Overall sound track is tough to pick, but IMO the single best song in videogame history has to be the Double Dragon theme.

Here is the version from the Neon remake from a few years ago. That middle section starting around 35 sec is fantastic.

Not best, being 8 bit-8 track quality.
But that mysterious/ foreboding, & adventurous theme, preceded the awesomeness to play as a kid.

I don't know if it's because I played them as a kid, but music from the 8 & 16-bit eras impacted me much more than games today. Maybe it's because there was much less to process/digest in games back then; you just sat in front of the TV, stared at the bright and colorful graphics while blowing stuff up to rockin' tunes.

I can't even think of what most of the music in Bloodborne or Dark Souls sounds like, but I've had the Contra/Zelda/Double Dragon music stuck in my head for 35 years.

Castlevania. Every song on every level is awesome. Music on an 8 bit system shouldn't be that good. Doesn't seem possible.

Fun fact, all the songs were written by two women. One of them wrote half the songs on her own and the other did the same. So two women who didn't even collaborate both wrote the greatest video game soundtrack in history.
