The Type of spread you eat would be based on which prison system you're in, spread isn't the actual 3 meals a day served by the kitchen workers you idiots.
Around here Ramen noodles and Spicey cheetos were the shit, and considered the best spread. Then you could save your spice packet for the regular jail food.
With a 50 dollar a week limit on commissary it's usually 10 ramen, 5 flaming cheetos, 10 bags of chips (variety), 10 candy bars, 2 instant coffee containers and the rest on hygiene/personal ($10-15) for a total of 50 bucks. At least for me it was.
I heard federal jails have access to a lot more variety in terms of commissary.
As for the best actual meals, I always loved the taco's or whenever they served pancakes.
Bologne sammiches are the worst eh? someone did a weekend in county it looks like. Bologne was one of the better lunch sandwiches you could get.
You ever get that catfood looking "meat" sandwich mixed with loads of mayo? It's the only meal I'd never eat and you get mad hungry in jail.
Everything practically revolves around meal time.
Wake up at 6am for chow, go back to bed, wake up for lunch then workout and shower and bullshit till dinner, watch tv or gamble till lockup.
Rinse and repeat, with outside rec 30 minutes a day that changed randomly for each cell pod/block.
