    http://www.wbls.com/blogs/entertainment/dad-chops-young-mans-hair-after-catching-him-daughter

Dad comes home to find a 19 year old with his 17 year old daughter. He gets into a confrontation with 19 year and then cuts off the 19 year old's hair off with a knife.

Dad is now being charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

With this limited info, I would say plea to something and get him probation for a period but don't send behind bars.

Dad was probably just trying to protect his daughter and went too far.

Oh goodness. Anger problems for sure. 17 and 19 is a reasonable age disparity and 17 year olds aren't babies. The things I was doing when I was 17...

He wasn't trying to "protect" his daughter, he was just pissed off. Don't get caught. If she is under 18, just don't let the dad catch you. Simple. In places like the Balkans, they could make you marry her, or give you some serious trouble. But yes, 17 year olds are often fkn.. Not all of them. But a majority.

I can't imagine a scenario where I'm conscious and someone is able to cut my hair - with a knife no less - against my wishes.

Well, civilized society doesn't permit assault because of disrespect.

Call me crazy, but this sound incredibly badass. He cut the dude's hair, of all the things a father could cut when finding a dude with his daughter, his hair is about the most harmless but it damn well sent a message loud and clear.

I'm not justifying what he did, just saying that it probably wasn't because of his age like the op made it seem. (unless their age difference was the "disrespect")

That'ssssss.... That's not the way to teach kids to look at the world. Your disrespectful behavior can have negative consequences for you, EXACTLY like a response to disrespect can have consequences. You definitely sound like a women, however.

Yeah, if you disrespect a guy enough, he might beat your ass. Do serious damage to your well being. Then he'll go to jail. Did not stop him from beating your ass. This world of "the bitchiest mouth wins because there are never any repercussions for disrespect" is not necessarily making the world a more friendly/happy place, overall. I'm glad there are punishments for assault, but I'm fully aware that if I disrespect a guy out in public I might get punched, I understand that. I even teach my kids not to be disrespectful to people because of it. You should understand that. Everybody should understand that. I know women want physical strength out of the equation, but it's about as far out as it's ever going to get.

Well, I'm not teaching that disrespect does not have consequences.

I'm teaching that even when disrespected, adults can and should control how they act.

True. And adults are supposed to respect other adults. People do not always do what they are supposed to.

The act of major disrespect or insult is the catalyst, and probably a sign of just as bad of a person as the one who reacts to it, depending on the level of both the insult and the reaction, of course.
