OK, for the past 6 months I've been trying to cut weight. My diet and exercise regimen is working well for me but I'd like to add a fat burning supplement, however, from what I understand, a lot of fat burning products are terrible for you. I already take a B vitamin supplement and flaxseed oil, does anyone know of any other safe (or at least fairly safe) supplements? Or should I just stick with what I have and stay away from fat burners? Thanks for your input!
Reading this forum helped me learn some more about green tea. I used to drink it occasionally, but as an experiment, I now drink it regularly (2x a day for the past 3 weeks), and also started taking the green tea extract capsules from GNC, 2x a day for the past 3 days. Supposedly, it can increase metabolism beyond what can be explained by the caffine content. I have no idea if that really is true or not since I have only been doing this for a short time. YMMV.
Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is said to help reduce fat and increase lean muscle. CLA is a substance that use to be found in a lot of meat but has pretty much disappeared since cows are now grain fed. Some people think this is one of the causes for so many people being overweight today. CLA is said to take as long as 4-6 months of taking before it starts to make a difference. I take CLA and I have lost quite a few pounds as well and gained muscle. However, I doubt CLA had that much affect. Maybe helped a little. But proper eatting and exercise was most likely the main reason. CLA is sold under the name Tonalin.
