Finally watched the Bisping fight, and seeing Anderson that intense was almost infuriating. I would have loved to see a prime Silva fighting with that much intensity and will to win. I remember in one of the rounds, Anderson just chasing Bisping and going all Robbie Lawler-ish at the end trying to engage. Meanwhile we ended up with chit fights like Leites and Maia.

Oh well, better late than never. He still looked great, and I think could stay top 10 for at least 3 more years.

Yea he was fired up which I loved.

BUT, he was getting hit a lot. And if taunting while getting hit wins you the fight then Nick diaz would have beat silva 50-45.

Silva's most effective weapons are his counters, he could have mixed those up with aggression better in some of his fights.

agree 100%, regardless it was an amazing fight and I'd love to see Silva fight with that kind of ferocity again...win or lose.

What the f*#k? The guy is a walking highlight reel and you are trying to tell us that he didn't give a shit to entertain the fans? That's all he did - while winning more than anybody else in the UFC. So what the f*#k really?

16 fight win streak with 14 highlight reel finishes and you bring up the 2 decisions where the opponent would buttscoot around the cage while hoping not to get killed? Really? Do you see how f*#king stupid this is? Probably not because you posted that garbage already. Because you're as smart as a bag of hammers.

Or a troll. If that's the case then good for you for making me vent the steam reading your post caused.

Still the point stands, f*#k you you dumb motherf*#ker.

They're completely different fights. The Maia and Lietes fights played out like they did because of butt-scooting and shitty officials. Maia and Lietes were BJJ players who wanted Anderson on the ground, couldn't take him down, and resorted to butt-flopping.

Anderson didn't want to jump into their guard, so spent a lot of time pacing around and taunting. IIRC in both fights the ref's issued about 50 verbal warnings to both fighters without really doing anything. I think Mirgliotta might have deducted a point from Anderson during the 5th round of one of them, when it was painfully obvious it wouldn't affect the outcome of the fight.

Anderson chased Bisping because he thought he'd be able to outclass him on the feet like he was fighting Stephan Bonnar and didn't have any fear of the takedown.

IDK what you talking about. I was having a heart attack throughout the fight. I was watching every second of it. Action every second. Intense intense match. Thank you Anderson Bisping.

What the fuck are you talking about, this is a positive thread you goof.
Suggestion: maybe you set readers up for negativity cuz right before they read your post, they read: "Fans have gotten robbed by Anderson Silva"?

Anyhow, FWIW, not trying to be a dickhead.

I think Silva simply gave the impression of being nonchalant in his prime to mess with his opponent's head. When a guy is going all out against someone that acts like they aren't in the least bit worried it can be rattling. But if you look at how he finished most fights there is no doubt he was fighting intense.

He does rely heavily on the counter but it's a luxury he had from being ahead in every fight until the Chael fight. The only fight in his prime I felt he didn't engage was the Maia fight, although that one was bad. The Leites fight I put on both guys. But Silva has been a finisher for a long time. Kind of hard to knock his intensity imo.

Odd fight....... but proved Silva is still capable of bringing it.

Screw the haters, they must love those 3-round snoozers...

I thought it was very entertaining ... That was the best Bisping vs the worst Silva

Did we watch the same fight? He could have ended it whenever he wanted to 3, 4, and 5th rounds but clowned around for 3.5 minutes of each round. You're damn right we were robbed. He robbed us of our magic finish... because he'd rather go and play whack a mole on the fucking fence.

I certainly did not feel robbed - was I disappointed he lost - yup - but it was a damn good scrap and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bisbing showed incredible heart and a solid game - Anderson had moments of "The Spider" but they drifted.

Watched it twice now.

VS Damien Maia is the worst Silva. I had Silva winning this but take nothing away from Michael Bisping, he put in his complete all against Silva and spared not an ounce of energy. He deserved that controversial decision.

You're right, TS. He was a real slacker during his years of dominating the division as the best p4p fighter ever. He shoulda done more.
