The thing is, loads of US movies have been made in the UK, which means lots of the extras come from a pool of British actors. There are loads of people in the Star Wars franchise we also saw on TV dramas, comedies, commercials and suchlike, for example. Not much point in listing them here, of course but it was always funny to see them pop up in big budget blockbusters.

Apoc Now was in production so long I believe he was actually cast before Starwars made him a star, the characters name is a reference to that film and Lucas's involvement in the Apoc script(at the same time Coppola was helping with Starwars I'd guess?) though "Colonel G Lucas".
