Here's something to consider

When you drain yourself you have a compromised chin (less fluid in the brain to cushion against blows)

Rockhold not draining himself any longer will have a much better chin at 205

Think about Oscar De La Hoya

At 130/135 Oscar would always get rocked and people started saying he had a bad chin

Oscar stopped cutting weight and once he started fighting at 147/154 Oscar started to show an iron chin

Weight cutting is a terrible terrible thing that more fighters need to stop doing

Look at Whittaker. KOd at 170 but IRON CHIN AT 185

Moving up is only going to help Rockhold's chin

Plus Rockhold was already a fast 185lber. He will have a significant speed advantage at 205

Rockhold at 205 would've beaten Jones. I've always said he had the perfect style to beat Jones.

Jones doesn't have the boxing. Rockhold had the ability to kick with the kicker and dictate the range/pace.

Plus the ground game to make Jones hesitant, and if he ever got on top of Jones, the ground game to batter Jones etc

Rockhold should've fought Jones after beating Weidman. Rockhold would've beaten Jones

I can guarantee you right now that Rockhold is going to be a completely different beast at 205.

Especially with how weak 205 always has been - and with how much talent 205 has always lacked

Look how Rumble was exposed at 185 by Vitor, YET was a #1 contender at 205

A lot of the top MWs would beat all the top LHWs (Jones/Gus/Rumble)


LHW is and always has been the weakest division in MMA. After the old guard, Jones and Gus were the only prospects to come up and now both are well over 30

All of the real elite talent in MMA are competing at 145 and 155 (135 is getting up there too)

There's pretty much already real science behind it proving it. Cutting weight=less fluid in brain=weaker chin. It's a scientific fact now
 
Jones is part of nothing. He made the "old guard' look old by using PED to beat them on his way to the top.

Also, Rumble lost to TRT Vitor. That is not "being exposed".
 
He might have a better chin, sure, but against the big hitters at LHW it won't matter much.

He has the skills and size to be a top LHW but his chin and defense will fail him.

It's surprising to me that so called fans still don't understand that fighters cutting weight are always compromised and are not at their best

It's just that there are fighters who still win while being 70% - for example who can still take shots well despite having less fluid in their brain...but the fact is, that when they cut weight they do have less fluid in the brain to cushion against heavy blows

Fun fact: the majority of deaths you see in Combat Sports occurred because that fighter was taking shots while dehydrated (all the deaths are brain bleeding)

It’s not his chin. He doesn’t keep his hands up and doesn’t react when he gets hit
 
As weak as 205 is right now, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Rockhold became champ when Cormier goes up.

Jones has always been insanely over rated

Even if you take out the steroids, Jones still never beat anyone in their prime. Never anyone his size either

Jones is over rated as fuck

And LHW was over rated even worse, which is why Jones was able to even have the "success" he did in the first place

"Right place right time"

A Jon Jones at LW never even makes the top 5 at LW



Also the fact is that Vitor humiliated Rumble right exactly before he had his run at 205

It shows how insanely weak LHW always was during the Jones era

Rumble exposed by a 185lber, yet goes up to LHW and becomes a top LHW instantly lmao

Someone has to be clueless to think that Rockhold a better MW then Rumble ever was, could go up and and not have EVEN MORE success at such a shallow talentless division like 205

There is absolutely no proof of why a chin is better than someone elses. Nothing. Just theories.

That being said............. Luke is going to run through Jones and DC??

I will bet you one of my fucking kids that isn't happening.
