I just realized that the changes Facebook had undergone in the past two years has made it completely different. My wall is filled with shit I have no interest in receiving news about: NBA, teen celebrities, promotional ads, memes that aren't funny and wannabe's trying to be famous. I want to hide or unfollow 90% of what is in my wall.

It's like previously going to a place only you and your friends know to hang out, and bit by bit that place got overrun by people you have no association with and bunch of shills handing out flyers and shit. I used to like just logging in and checking photos of fb friends and making stupid jokes through comments. Don't really have a point, I just want the old facebook back.

I think people who use facebook daily or even worse live on the site are pathetic.

The only reason I keep my account is to talk to my friends overseas. I never upload pictures albeit to change my profile pic, rarely if ever.

^ One of the reasons I don't think I can deactivate my account, it is just so convenient to reach out to people anywhere with facebook. It is a social necessity imo. For instance, it is the easiest way for me to ask someone for career advise or directions to get somewhere you need to get to, like in a rural place.

Someone close to me went to the hospital recently in another country and facebook was key for communication to check up on her. It's too bad that fb became an online marketplace.

The thing that annoys me currently is that they keep trying to get me to download Messenger. On the Facebook icon on my phone and tablet there us a constant orange 1 on the Facebook symbol. I hate seeing that little 1. It never goes away.

It was a cool site to keep up with your friends. But once they got the massive user base they turned the whole feed into an advertisement. They litter your feed with actual ads. Then they recommend pages to you, which is also advertising. And anytime someone you know views a stupid clickbait article or likes something they put it in your feed, also advertising. They also put in random trends that have nothing to do with you and your friends. None of this stuff is removable in Facebook options. Of course it isnt, its forced advertising.

I want nothing of what they are selling. All I want is to see my friends actual posts and pictures, nothing else. This only makes up 10-20% of the feed. The feed was originally a great idea. Your own personalized information stream, tailored to show you exactly what you are interested in. Now its a hot pile of garbage.

Luckily Facebook purity gets rid of most of the crap.

I deactivated my account about 2 years ago. It feels like it was the right thing to do.

The only reason I have an account there is that some friends set up events through it. The rest doesn't concern me.

I wish sherdog would get rid of the stupid twitter feed on the right. I'm on sherdog forums. Why do I care what sherdog is tweeting? I can't even minimize it. It's forced advertising and I don't like it.

I hate that. Every damm site has its own app now and every time I go there on mobile it pops up asking me to install the app. Anyone figured out a way to turn this off.

I use sherdog to anonymously say the things I cannot say on facebook to people that know me IRL. I'd say the Sherdog me is the real me (ie obsessed with women's butts).
