On the 23rd of February 2017 Fabio Pinca will challenge Manaowan from Sitsongpeenong gym Bangkok. on the next best of siam show for manaowans belt. What are your thoughts on this fight and how do you think it will go down? There have been a few farang champions this year in rajadamnern is this good or bad for muay thai?

Its a fun fight. We haven't seen Pinca fight in Thailand in forever so it will be cool to see where he's at. Manaowan probably takes it.

My thought is that a lot of fighters compete for Rajajdamnern titles.

Foreigners becoming champion is an inignificant side dish for casuals to get hyped about. I care about good fights being made and not the trinket. Take away the hoopla of Pinca being the great foreign nemesis and what you get is a run-of-the-mill kind of fight you can see in Thailand at least a dozen times a week.

As for the fight, I don't know. I've probably seen Manaowan fight but I can't recall anything about him.

Seems like they just hand title shots to foreigners in Raja these days. Really takes the luster out of the achievement.

Well it doesn't really matter. The Raja belt is most prestigious at about 130 pounds and below. The one Pinca is fighting for is about as valuable as the WBC silver belt is to boxing.

If Pinca wins do you think he would actually defend the belt or would it just be business as usual with him mostly fighting outside of Thailand?

pinca will probably beat manaowan. he is just not that good at this point. He did beat aziz hlali on the last one of these shows but then he got tko'd by dejirit poptheretham in a toyota 8 man tournament

I still give Manaowan a slight edge for being more experienced with the proper scoring system.
