kinda reminds me of the old fedor/arlovski counter

The Kingsbury fight he must have landed 100+ shots in the clinch.

Fabio is seen as some bum here because Stipe easily KOd him but in reality he was always a tough bastard with good hands by MMA standards and a brown belt under Big Nog. With his chin and experience anyone who tries straight up boxing with him will have problems. I think he would beat someone like Derrick Black Bum Lewis in a pure boxing match with relative ease.

Said no one ever

No kidding. As a former boxer, body shots are hell to land clean, fighters arms are in the way, many fighters fight forward, meaning they are crouched forward slightly with chin tucked and the goddman boxer shorts get higher every year.

The only way to easily get body shots is against fighters that have a high arm defensive posture (and some do) or guys that have a diagonal stance rather than a squared stance. Even then its a bugger to land a good shot and plenty of them bounce off the rib cage doing virtually no damage.

You can land some in the clinch but in boxing you are separated almost immediately.

There is a reason there are only a few guys in MMA or boxing that are known for body shots.
