Faber's technique of simply reaching down and grabbing a leg. Only Faber can pull this off because it is risky and he so dominant in scrambles it works? Or should it be utilized more by people quick enough to do it on boxers with the flat footed/sitting down on their punches stance? I'm too tall to try that but I used to copy/emulate Machida's trips in sparring all the time obviously much different... I had no Judo/Karate background it just felt right and I know Machida's trips are much more common place just threw it in there. Any shorter quick fighters emulating Faber's snatching the leg techinque? thats the real purpose of this thread.

Can't see the gif but I'm guess he just grabs a leg? Nevermind it loaded damn. So we all agree unless you are Yoel or Faber that is technique not to ever try.

I'm not trolling man. I was serious in that I really saw him doing that and was like f that I would have never gone for that...Like just Sparring don't want to look dumb. I mean to say stick to the Machida style trips, sweeps and don't do that unless your Faber or well Yoel

That is actually an ankle pick made popular by US wrestler Cael Sanderson who beat Yoel Romero in the 2004 Olympic games

  11. That takedown of Hendo is perfect.

Now I know never followed wrestling enough or had solid wrestling clearly. I've been exposed and I'm okay with that. Much less dangerous to use in a pure wrestling match. Would not want a counter knee to the face. Or just get off balance reaching for it.

Faber has really good grappling, maybe even great. He only has trouble with guys who hold belts or people named Frankie Edgar.

But he is a skilled dude, definitely has the benefit in his body type to complete takedowns like those
