The guy is probably LHW's GOAT but explain to me how he is the GOAT of all time..

    - Never had any matches in a different weight class.
    - Never KO'ed anyone in the UFC.
    - Pokes almost every fighter in the eyes in each fight.
    - Beat Gus by a controversial decision. (This means he lost at least 2 rounds, possibly 3).

He's great, don't get me wrong. I'll say he's in the top 5 best fighters of all time. But the GOAT? I find that ridiculous from what the people call him here.

He's basically undefeated with a long title reign and beat almost every light heavyweight of significance including many of the greatest to ever fight in the weight class.

    I don't think he's goat either though.

Guys with more than 20 victories.

He's been champion for 3 years.

Anderson, Fedor, and GSP were champions for 6 years each.
Aldo has been champion for 5.

I can't say he's GOAT but he's definitely in the top 10 GOAT at the very least.

    He's definitely the #1 or #2 P4P best right now and a future HOF'r....

he's the youngest ever ufc champion and he has a good chance of beating the ufc records for most consecutive wins, most title defences and has the most finishes in his weight class. he has also beaten every fighter that's been considered the best light heavyweight for the past 5 years or so

i don't like him but it's not an outrageous claim

I don't think most have him the goat. But lhw goat yes. And another 4 or 5 title defenses without a loss, ill probably have him the goat. He is very impressive.

Yet he has more title defenses than all of them Except Anderson and GSP and he is catching up.

He is also finishes more than GSP and has done more at his age than Anderson did by the same period in time.

He is also a white belt with about 3 years of experience and yet he submited black belts and outstruck strikers with over a decades of experience. He made shogun tap to strikes for christ sakes!

If I were to choose, it'd be:

    ** Fedor **
    - Undersized HW that has beaten opponents two times bigger than him.
    - Finished his opponents in every area (KO, TKO, submission off his back and top position)
    - Has only trained with one small camp and without any big names besides Aleks to prepare for his fights.
    - Has fought under Japan and U.S. rules to show his versatility.

Jones is not GOAT yet. But your argument is horrible. Quality over quantity, quality always has outweighed numbers in combats sports. Its why someone like Mayweather at 48-0 and having the legit talent of a GOAT and being one of the smartest boxers ever, is not even close to being the GOAT in boxing.

Jones is behind the big three, but not by much in my opinion. Beating DC, Gus again, and Rumble would get him most of the way there in my opinion.

He has 9 career KO's.. TKO and KO in MMA is splitting hairs.. A KO on the ground is the same as on the feet..

The whole concept of a GOAT in a sport barely 20 yrs old is retarded.

The names collected on his resume will crown him. The whos who of the 205 division, there isn't a top flight contender who has earned a shot he hasn't beaten. Who is left? DC will be added tomorrow, we got Rumble and Phil Davis then its done at 205. Name a win for Anderson Silva, GSP or Fedor that is as impressive as a potential Jones victory over Danny Corms?

I'm hearing a lot of "except" and "catching up".

Jones might become the GOAT, but he needs more fights. Just gotta slow your roll. The top 3 GOAT are pretty firm at this time.
