the first thing I notice, when i get tired, is this weird soreness in my solar plexus.

1) maybe i exhale too hard when punching? (i think i exhale as hard as possible, when going for power shots)

2) are you supposed to exhale from the nose or mouth?

3) what do you guys do? i notice some pros dont exhale as much as other fighters, when it comes to hearing it. for example, Cotto/margarito is quiet, but you can clearly hear roy jones, and juan diaz.

1) dont know

2) exhale out your mouth.

3) making more noises when you exhale is all a matter of personal preference. You could moan loudly when you punch for all its worth and its not going to make you any better or worse of a fighter. In conclusion..doesnt matter.

Moaning will probably be more effective when sparring as it will probably freak out your opponent. Unless it backfires and they like it. Then good luck

Same thing happened to me today after going 5 rounds on the heavy bag..... I think maybe I was either Holding my breath or like u said, Exhaling with tremendous force.

As far as I know you are supposed to exhale from your stomach. If you exhale very hard using the upper part of your chest that may be why you are initially sore there. Think of it as starting in the gut tightening your abs and then coming out. Some say that exhaling (the noise) keeps you going that if you stop you've lost the fight. I don't know about that but I think it definitely has benefits.

Maybe if you sound like Serena or Venus Williams after they make a serve you will scare your opponent? I don't know.

exhailing does help when ur stiking if u find urself getting tired breathe in slowly thru ur nose and take ur breath into ur stoumach and then release slowly it always helps me and makes feel refreshed whether im fighting or training
