...Pacquiao vs Bradley II, which did 800k buys, but that was in 2014, almost six years ago.
I think people predicting 1m+ buys for Wilder vs Fury II aren't being realistic about where America's PPV
    market stands today.

Have all of Wilders PPV's combined even made 1 mill?
It's why Wilder is the b-side when facing Joshua, Americans don't want to watch him fight.

Dodgy decisions make for huge rematches. Pac/Bradley was worse than Fury/Wilder but still... People like to see a wrong righted.

PPV buys are a dead standard of measurement for success.

Its seems pretty obvious that Fury is the A side for this fight in terms of revenue generation

Tell that to the fighters who get a cut of every ppv bought

How do they still keep getting millions and millions of dollars even though PPV’s are considered unsuccessful? I wonder.

Highly doubtful, wilder's name is always listed first

    https://www.mma-core.com/events/Deontay_Wilder_vs._Tyson_Fury_2/82102

Based on the star power of both and the previous fan friendly, much talked about bout, I would estimate 500 - 600k US buys, but the full force of a Fox AND Espn getting behind this could feasibly take the figure over 1m

Overhyping Mayweather/Pac was a massive mistake for boxing. Smart fans knew that was going to be a one sided stinker. Lots of people probably bought their first and last boxing PPV that night.

In 2010 it would have been very different. Maybe the same result? but very different.

Popularity or PPV doesn’t matter. What matter is that fighters are getting paid and fights are getting made.

We now live in a world where you can become fabulously wealthy without being known to the general American public.

Presumably he is listed first as he is the champion.......I say Fury is the A side as look at the revenue the two Fury fights will generate compared too all the others in Wilders career

You can reverse that and say Wilder is the A side, as this is the most Fury could make

Nah Fury can fight Joshua and he'll earn even more.

Both Wilder and Fury could fight AJ and could conceivably make more money, but there isn't much in it, it depends on the ppv numbers, earnings wise it could go either way.

However Wilder vs Fury, the 3rd joint PPV in boxing history (as far as I know), after may/pac and tyson/lewis is a bigger deal in terms of scale. This is the boxing superbowl. Even though AJ has generated more money than either, the joint network thing between FOX and ESPN, makes this a bigger blockbuster

    I think Wilder/Fury 2 will do about 500k

Boxing just seems less in the mainstream than ever since HBO left, and with Showtime possibly out the door as well.

These Dazn cards, I see so many empty seats........
