A significantly heavier opponent has double underhooks on him and is holding his back to the cage yet Fyodor gets the throw and lands his opponent flat with all his weight on top of him. Highly impressive, when was the last time you saw something like that, especially at HW? Ippon!

I love fedor but the guy needs to retire after this tourney. He got stunned by shots he'd normally laugh at, and no head movement whatsoever.

That being said...Excellent throw and knowledge of kuzushi. I'm very surprised Mir didn't try to spin for a guard; perhaps he wasn't as confident as he let on. Fedor's throws and trips are always seemingly instinctive to him at a moments notice.

I don't get what was so impressive about it. Mir was able to stand up immediately after being thrown.

Fedor let him up IMO. Throw (harai goshi btw) was mostly to get off the fence with double unders and back to striking.

It was a great moment.

One of the most incredible throws I've ever seen him do was against Bigfoot using a "five-fingered guillotine" grip going around the back of bigfoot's neck and grabbing his chin.

A chin strap?

Great grip for harai and osoto versus a duck under.

I want to call this an osoto gari, because Fedor's hips were not in position for harai goshi. But it looks like he managed to get the little reap anyway. Nice technique.

I'm leaning toward Harai. Fantastic use of kuzushi and timing.

It was a gorgeous harai goshi.

You don't see that often at that weight.

I agree it had a sort of ashi guruma tweek to it.
