This. It's also poetic, in a way. Rockhold was going to fight for the title against Anderson, but Vitor's spinning kick stopped his title shot. Five fights later, Rockhold is the champion because his opponent threw a spinning kick.

MMA is a crazy sport.
 
Nick Diaz hasn't really been a shining star as far as high fight IQ goes.

Weidman had the momentum in round 3 and was winning the round before the wheel kick attempt. I had Weidman round 1 Rockhold round 2 and Rockhold was gassing in round 3 and Weidman got cocky and Rockhold made him pay for it.
 
Thiago Alves smashing Kampmann for nearly 3 rounds on the feet only to go for a takedown in the last 30 seconds of the fight that he was clearly winning, and subsequently got guillotine choked out. Couldn't believe it.

That same scenario happened in the second Pitbull/Straus fight I believe, as well. But that was over 5 rounds.
 
Lombard vs Magny is one of the worst I have seen. Lombard had won round 1 10-8 and was ahead in round 2. Lombard was on top of Magney and went for a low percentage leglock and Magney beat on him for the rest of the round and eventually got the finish in the third round.

Lombard's chin was never the same after that fight and it's mainly his own fault for going for that leglock.
 
Michael Johnson hurting and wobbling Justin Gaethje on the feet multiple times in round 1, and every time he did he would proceed to clinch Gaethje against the cage and let him recover.

Third round both looked tired and yeah Chris started landing body kicks but he also kept getting popped in the face. As tired as Rockhold looked right when it hit the mat Chris was the one with nothing left. He didn't try to pop out or explode once. He kind of turtled when it got into mount and it could have been stopped. Then Rockhold took it to him in the 4th where Weidman laid there and got beat on. Kinda seems more like Weidman was gassing harder.

After getting rocked bad, he stays in the pocket and tried to strike back and gets hurt again.
 
Marc Stevens vs Cody McKenzie followed up by Marc Stevens vs Aaron Wilkinson.....Shoots in for a double leg against McKenzie whos only thing is the guillotine choke and gets immediately caught....then using all the knowledge he had gained previously, does the exact same thing against Wilkinson and it was TUF so these fights were literally like a week apart lol
