What do you think?

Alvarez, Kawajiri, Aoki, and....Luiz Firmino! In LW tourney that culminated in Aoki-Hansen wars.

Mirko beating ultimate punching bag, Mizuno - who is middleweight but does not know it.

And the most important question:
WHO IS KWAN BUM LEE? And what is he doing nowadays?

And the world was never......um, well......it’s better than nothing.

Fuck.im old
same here...

man i loved the Dream/Sengoku era. those times gave me some of the best mma memories to date.

I remember watching Dream 15 the day after it aired live. at the exact moment i was watching Dream 15 the finals of the world cup was on involving the Netherlands. like i give a fuck about football! All i cared about was seeing Kawajiri beating Aoki which obviously didnt happen...

Wtf 10 years? How did that happen haha

I used to have such a big hopes for Dream as the new japanese fighting league.

DREAM got freaking epic openning videos. Never seen that type of hyping material again :(

I remember staying up to watch events live then going to work on like 2 hr sleep, God bless hdnet

I dont know why but I liked Sengoku more than DREAM.

Their judging sucked ass though

That era between Pride's demise and UFC's world domination (Strikeforce/WEC acquisition and DREAM/Sengoku/Affliction dying) is in general really underrated.

i miss dream and hdnet.

i actually kept hooking up with a girl because she had direct tv/hdnet.

Not cool. Whereas I hung out with a dude I didn't like much because he had hacked satellite so I could watch Pride events live. #metoo

I remember staying up all night and seeing Marius Zaromskis headkick his way to the tournament championship. Awesome times

Yeah, that wasn't expected at all.
Everyone though that Sakurai will tear through this bunch of green prospects...

agreed.

Those were exciting times for mma fans. I was really hoping for a Jmma revival. Also would have loved to see Affliction succeed but honestly everone knew they were doomed from the start.

Man those were good times indeed.

foolish for me to think Zaromskis was the next big thing tho. really believed he was an elite WW for a time but he is also underrated by some fans as he was a verry decent competitor with a solid record.

Everyone thought he was a new Mirko because of devastating kicking game.
No one realized that Mirko was much much more.

Nick Diaz stopped the hype, Cyborg exposed him completely.
But at least he created a name for himself...

RIZIN isn't exactly PRIDE 2.0 and its roster isn't honestly even close to what DREAM had at its peak but it's still JMMA on a big stage and they have a handful of what you could call elite fights mostly thanks to Horiguchi. They also seem to have a healthier base than DREAM when their viewership started going down. This year's NYE TV rating wars will determine where they will go in the future IMO.
