Maybe if Artem went out there and destroyed Paulie this thread would be valid. But that was a terrible fight where both guys did nothing.

Most of the people hyping this win had never even heard of Paulie or seen him fight before. He is the worst representative boxing could have asked for as he literally made a career off of using just his jab and movement. He went through multiple fights rarely even throwing his right hand from fear of breaking it. He embarrassed himself and boxing.

Artem will have a worse time with a guy who never even sniffed a title like Paulie, but could actually punch with both hands.

It's a little different, but Paulie is also the worst representative you could ask for. The fact that people are taking this as some sort of MMA vs. Boxing thing is what I was afraid would happen.

Also Artem landed only a few punches. Yes they did damage, but that was hardly a good fight. Paulie was out jabbing him the first half of the fight..

38 retired boxer who got beat up by the equivalent to Artem in boxing in his last fight. Won most of his fights by jabbing. Any boxing fan who thought Paulie would easily win is delusional.

There are plenty of boxers out there with a horrible record that would.never even sniff the top 50 that would beat Artem up in bareknuckle. Paulie has the worst possible style for it. Either way I'm sure Artem will run into one soon enough if they lay enough.

Bullshit. Any time you get a UFC fighter who gets known for his striking, there's idiot talk about how they'd do against a boxing champ.

Just look at all the idiots acting like Artem eking out a lackluster decision against non-power-punching retired fighter who broke his hand early in the fight is some kind of validation for MMA striking.

That will be the minority. In Sylvia's case at least, Sylvia never really had much fans to begin with. So you have much more reasonable people from both sides that won't favor Sylvia in the stand up against Mercer. But with a lot of people thought that any boxer would win against any MMA fighter if it was striking match and especially when they can only use their hands for offense.

Especially a former world champ who was retired, not even that long though and who has been back training since sparring Conor. And especially against a MMA fighter with a terrible record with tiny arms.
