Do you support the UFC decision to give Madadi another chance?

Mark Wahlberg is a huge public figure, he is an A list actor in Hollywood who was a racist, he was charged with attacking Blacks and Asians, nobody cares about that, so why care about bum fighters?

I cares

I think is despicable that a man pays for his crime, yet we have op saying we should discuss not giving this man an opportunity at a job.

OP, you are everything wrong with the world...people who have paid for there crimes, should have all the same opportunities as all citizens.

According to u, this man shouldn't get opportunities, which will probably lead him down the path of crime, Again.
While I agree with it in this case, that logic doesn't universally apply. The punishment is mostly given out by the accusers, so it's challenging to justify it as being sufficient one way or another. As far as the UFC is concerned, this isn't the NFL where they're trying to put on the facade that their athletes aren't thugs and are "helping the community," etc. They sell branded violence and aren't afraid to admit it. If they're willing to allow Jon Jones, who is a considerably shittier person than Maddadi, than it would be absurd for them to blink at this.

I think if someone's done their time, and you can't let it go, then you probably believe our criminal justice system serves as a punishment mechanism rather than a means for rehabilitation. In theory, it's supposed to rehabilitate, but in reality it fails miserably in this regard, which is why recidivism rates are so high. In practice, it's punishment and nothing more.

I don't care, its fighting we are all watching here c'mon!

How many boxers went to jail and came out and won world titles?
Ali, tyson, bernard hopkins etc...

He did his time. There is no reason to deny him a chance to make a living.

I think with the UFC being the most visible and highly touted MMA organization, they have certain responsibilities. IMO, anyone who has committed violent crimes should not be in the ufc within a year of their sentencing, and should get fights outside the UFC at smaller organizations while on good legal behavior before they are allowed to fight for the largest MMA organization in the world.

aggravated implies the use of weapons or other aggravating circumstances. i would call it more than a 'property crime'.

He stole a couple of bags.

He did his time. I also wouldn't mind seeing a child molester in there, just as long as he weighs in at 170 and has to fight HWs.

He served his time. That's how it works. Punishing people further isn't going to improve anything for anyone. And also, last I checked Jonathan was still in the UFC so.

why rob a store when youre raking in that UFC cheese

I dont know what he did.. If it was some joe son gang rape shit then i dont think ufc should give him anything.. If he was selling hot tvs out of a truck then whatever

Voted no since it wasn't that long ago.

There is nothing rehabilitating about prison or even jail for that matter.

They both fail massively in any way you look at them. The US justice system is an awful, broken down, decrepit thing.

It's not like he hit another vehicle, ran from the scene, ran back to get his money, and then ran away again.

So sure, let him fight.
