So I will be out in Singapore from work for a while and Evolve seems to be the best place to train.

Anyone know how much drop-in's cost and also how much it would cost for one month? Also, what is it like as a gym to train at. I'm no means a professional but I have decent Muay Thai and No-Gi grappling experience so would be looking at intermediate-advanced classes.

i visited the gym when i was in Singapore a couple years back. you should be able to get one free session off their website. cant remember monthly costs but i think its pretty expensive, considering its near a business district.

the Muay Thai talent there is pretty damn impressive...not sure about other disciplines. got to meet Samart's brother Kongtoranee and Attachai Fairtex when i was doing the tour of the facility. very nice gym, btw...its like a higher end sports club here in the US.

There is a free trial that you can do. I think they only take yearly memberships.

The free trial seems to be a 30 minute intro class which from reviews appears to be a tour of the gym and some punching and kicking rather than a proper class.

Yes I think it is that. Do you know where you'll be living in Singapore? I live and train here so I could tell you what gyms would be near where you'll be living.

Details aren't fully confirmed yet but given I work in finance probably somewhere near the business/financial district

It was 50SGD for the drop in when I was there and you need to bring your passport (this part really freaked me out). They might take a drivers license though. I doubt you'll get a free trial unless you can prove you are Singaporean but you never know. I went during a very busy tourist time.

they barely looked at my passport the few times I was asked to bring it. they only wanted to make sure I was a local citizen because they want to prevent tourists from using their gym then going back to their local country without paying anything for the tuition (at least that was what I was told).

Evolve is a great place to train, and has all levels of classes. Depending on your skill level and experience, you might be able to join in on the fight team practices or at least the amateur team training sessions. This would be based on your proven skill level.

If you are going to be there long term, you can do a trial and then check out there membership options. For short term check out their newly launched vacation program.

They offer weekly and monthly passes.

I recently moved to Singapore and was so looking forward to training at Evolve, but it looks like I'll be living somewhere far to the west (up to 1 hour with public transit and walking to the stations). Aaaarghhhh! And all the effin martial arts gyms (not just Evolve gyms) are concentrated in downtown Singapore as if the rest of Singapore does not exist. So pissed. Rant rant rant!!! :icon_evil

Gym I train at is in the west. Where do you live? Hit me up on Facebook if you want, search stephen Langdown

Still haven't found a place to stay, but it will be quite to the West (Clementi, Dover, Buona Vista or so). Hopefully, I can find something close to the MRT. :icon_neut

So, anyone training MT (or BJJ) at Evolve? What do the classes look like?

Considering checking this place out possibly in March/April for a week or so, looks awesome but pricey

I'm still waiting for Evolve to actually produce a good fighter of their own, but I imagine it should be a great place to visit and train at for a while
