Who have you got?

This is vehemently one of the most intriguing, and compelling prospect fights we've had booked in quite some time.

Both are awesome prospects with bright futures (obviously one better than the other).

I am picking Topuria, mainly for the fact that he is a better boxer; a better grappler (Evloev has poor control); he also has a high-level Greco Roman background (neither Evloev, nor Topuria accomplished anything in GR, but both Ingushetia and Georgia are at a high level in GR- both consistently achieve world champions and medalists every year).

But Evloev really can't hurt anyone, and I think Topuria will hit Evloev and finish him in two rounds. Both aren't exactly cardio machines and have faded; although, you could make a case for Topuria accepting his decision win on short notice and not having a full camp. Evloev has faded twice against Barzelos and Dawodu.

Thoughts?

I'm not picking, because I'm told you can't match two fantastic undefeated prospects against each other, and you should book instead book Evloev vs Ige & Topuria vs Burgos.

Good points.

Grundy was seconds away from putting Evloev's lights out with a choke. Topuria is a vicious finisher and if given the same chance he'll take Evloev's neck home. Movsar looks for the clinch and takedown at any cost and you just can't do that against Topuria.

Evloev isn't a finisher from what we've seen. Regardless of how the first 2 rounds go, he'll be a sitting duck in the 3rd due to his cardio issues. In terms of pure athleticism Evloev is hard to beat, but he isn't he better fighter in this bout. I've got Topuria winning by stoppage late in the 2nd or early in the 3rd. He's got an incredible offensive submission game and throws hammers when standing.

In all seriousness, @Kratos94, I would say it's unlikely that Topuria finishes Evloev. I just don't see that as a feasible outcome. There's nothing in Ilia's fights OR Evloev's fights to suggest that outcome, in my opinion.

Topuria has looked fantastic finishing two guys who are both very good in their own right, but who we've seen aren't immune to adversity. Jackson & Hall are nothing like Evloev, either on paper or on tape.

Evloev is another Russian horror that drags people - inevitably - towards decisions. Chances are Topuria isn't getting finished either, so the question is who wins over 15 minutes?

Unravel that conundrum, and you'll make some money - but when it comes to a fight I think will go to decision, I always look to whichever fighter has most experience going the distance. In this instance, it's not close - Evloev is a decision machine, and his only split came against another distance-goer in Nik Lentz. Topuria is better than fighters like Lentz, but what I'm driving at is this: what does he do when his first round finishes are taken away from him, and how exactly does he outpoint Evloev across two rounds, let alone three?

My pick is: Evloev by Decision.

Hope Topuria stiffens that crouch sniffer.

I think Topuria is a stud. And I'll always be grateful to him for putting Ryan Hall into a octagon coma.

Topuria is too small and should be at BW. Evloeveasily controls him on the ground and wins a decision

Exactly Topuria is too small and will get decisioned

Topuira gets this one done in round 2 or 3. Evloev couldn't hurt a fly and in order to keep a guy like Topuira off you, the striking and power needs to be respected.

It’s a shame these 2 are fighting each other …. Both great rising prospects

based off latest performances - have to give tuporia the edge via better striking and keeping it standing or in the dominant position

For as good a grinder as evleov is …. He gets taken down and put in bad positions often … I don’t think he’ll just easily out wrestle tupirua as some claim
