Apr 2017: Frank Mir receives a two year suspension as a first time offender for Oral Turinabol.

Aug 2017: During his FOX interview, Jones slips up and says that he defeated Cormier "off steroids". His silence afterwards says more than any words could.



Aug 2017: Jones tests positive for Oral Turinabol, the same substance teammate Frank Mir tested positive for back in March of 2016.

February 2018: During Jones' CSAC hearing, it's discovered that:
  • He failed to report 10 supplements to United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) prior to his performance at UFC 214, despite signing a document that said he did, and that he only disclosed their existence when they were sent to the lab to be tested for banned substances (after his failed drug test).
  • Jones admitted he never watched mandated tutorials provided by USADA in both 2015 and 2016, instead passing them off to his management to take in his place (including having them forge his signature to confirm that he took said tutorials).
Present: Mir's precedent for receiving a two year suspension, as a first time offender, for Oral Turinabol, while having no mitigating evidence, makes me believe that Jones will receive longer than two years given that every detail is identical save for the fact that Jones is a second time offender.

Twofold explanation: Cyborg was over-sized for her division, over 2/3 of her opponents were Bantamweights and Flyweights, and it's probably perceived as worse because it's women getting knocked out. Jones (for most of his career) has been praised (i.e. promoted) by Dana White and a lot of men identify with Jones childish attitude, but getting caught for PEDs late in his career is going to make it unlikely that most of his fans will turn on him; if he had been caught for PEDs say in 2012 then things would've probably turned out much differently.

Jon Jones is the definition of a coward and a cheat. He couldn't beat Matt Hamill legitimately if it wasn't for his propensity towards PED usage. All his wins are questionable (and imo, nullified). I knew this before his PED busts.

Huh? jones has also had a significant height, reach, and youth advantage over virtually all of his opponents, many of which either moved up from mw to fight him or have migrated down to that division. Too many people became enamored with the hero worship and his aura of invincibilty (particularly parroted by the media, and even affecting judges seeing how they scored his fights); that's why they're in denial and continue to refuse to admit he is a ped cheat.

I wholeheartedly agree, but I don't think it played a factor in fans not disliking him while simultaneously disliking Cyborg.

I always point out Jones size and youth advantage over his smaller and older opponents as evidence for why his resume is hilariously overrated; his fans somehow think name value equals youth and talent.

I was reinforcing what @HaulParris was saying; Mir tried claiming that his positive test result was due to kangaroo meat, despite the fact that Mir abused TRT as evident by the two pictures I was comparing.

If you took the two seconds it would've taken to read the post I was quoting, you'd realize that Nogueira and Lesnar weren't part of the discussion in any way, shape, or form.
