Every single theory for why Jones has looked “lackluster”

Here is a list of every single theory that I’ve come across on Sherdog, listening to MMA podcasts, reading MMA news, and MMA journalists/analysts opinions on why Jones has looked worse that usual in recent fights. There was so many that they needed to be listed out.
Some of these are funny:

Pictograms pulsing/USADA (obviously)

Losing interest in MMA (getting bored of fighting)

Overconfidence (which leads him to close decisions because he doesn’t try)

Past prime (MMA prime, not physical prime)

Failure to evolve his fighting style (this one actually makes sense)

Jackson/Wink Gym is a shell of itself, Jones has no good training partners

Been in too many wars/5 round fights

Treading water/fighting safe (pulling a late career GSP)

Hasn’t looked good since the OSP fight

Wrestling game is devolving

Bad at fighting southpaws (i.e. Santos and OSP)

Looking past all of his recent opponents for superfights

He’s small for the weight class? Trying to cut to MW to fight Israel? (this one makes almost no sense)

Not sure which one is accurate, I just know that this has to be the most amount pre-fight excuses for a fighter ever.

imo history shows he performs to his opponent's level. that'll bite back eventually.

Those appear to be excuses for past fights, not this one.

I don't think he's been lackluster
He's dominated pretty much everyone he's faced other than Santos recently
 
It's not that he hasn't looked good as he beat Alex and santos. It's more that his fights are anticlimactic except the last DC fight. I don't get why people ride his nuts so much. If Jared Roshalt was undefeated but had all decision wins I wonder if people would love him the same.

Jones dominated and finished Gus two fights ago. Smith was also soundly outclassed. Santos was the only "close" fight and Jones still convincingly beat him at his own game

People also act like Santos is some bum.

Guy was knocking people dead before he fought Jones.

The answer is he is getting older and is more limited on the peds he can now use.
 
Physically Jones has taken quite a lot of punishment, he has a great chin and tends to avoid massive bombs but still he has always been hittable.
 
$1 or $1000, doesn't matter. I told you I put money down and meant it. What I decide to do with my money is my choice. If I gave it away then it's gone, just like that. By betting it I have the chance of multiplying it by 3.5 times!
