but yes I am aware of the law. I don't approve of a 48 year old with a 15 year old but if this was a 20 year old boy and a 15 year old girl I would have a different opinion.

I think men and woman are different enough for the double standard to be natural, that said, the fact that she's a teacher adds a level of abuse of authority that makes this sentence not as severe as it should be, imo.

Edit: I may have confused this case with another one, I'm not sure she's a teacher.

Completely different. The physical acts are different, the emotional effects will be different. This boy most likely will not be traumatized for the rest of his life. It just isn't the same crime in my opinion. His friends probably called him a hero while a girl in the same boat would be afraid to come out and talk about it. Sentence actually seems harsh to me

A large reason for this hypocrisy is other men. Men who are upset they didn't get laid when young or something or secretly crave young vagina but deny it.

Look no further than this own forum to find posters who have daughters who would cheer with sadist joy at the thought of sending a way some 20 year old let alone a 48 year old to prison for decades all for consensual sex with his sexual daughter. These walking hypocrites like to PRETEND that their daughters aren't sexual or that certain sexual acts with men or multiple men are 'above' their precious little daughter.

To play devil's advocate, this was a willing sexual encounter, so if the roles were reversed, I'm not sure why the girl would be traumatized or ashamed. If she chose to have sex with an older guy, while it may be wrong, there is no evidence to suggest she will be emotionally scared, necessarily at least.

I agree with you, but I think you should be careful when assessing everyone's motives here. Not everyone who points out the double standard wants it gone because they want to partake, some just don't like the hypocrisy. I think they're wrong in this instance, but still, doesn't mean they want to fiddle kids.
