evander holyfield's training

I'd seen that before.

If the point of the link is ONLY to show waht Evander did, then thanks. However, if you're implying that Evander's routine is good for building limit strength, I'm going to have to politely disagree. I've never heard Evander described as strong by anyone.

I would like to quote myself from the rich franklin thread in conditioning
-Pro fighters have been training for a long time. [true of any elite athlete]
-During their carreers they have figured out what works best for THEM PERSONALLY
-their workouts will reflect this

From the safety bubble created by your computer screen and keyboard you should not say "THEY SHOULD BE DOING THIS INSTEAD" because you don't know shit about what they've tried or what works best for them. All you can do is see how diverse training can be at that level and understand that you have to find what works for YOU.

I would also like to add that the people who make it to the top of any sport are typically genetically gifted to be able to do so. This makes it possible for them to succeed in spite of their training. they may also respond to stimuli that may leave the average schlub a quivering pile of dog vomit, or do nothing for joe blow at all.

Nobody can say Holyfield wasn't a championship boxer, so he must have done something right.

thanks for the link. I like the conditioning 3 minute drills and the plyos.

that routine is crazy! I honestly cant see how people can rag on training regimes like this and rich franklins. I have read the whole article before and have printed off somewhere, I ve even tried to do some extremly watered down versions of it, its no joke.

I just don't understand the logic behind the training split. Such a low frequency per movement pattern.

I wonder what fights Evander used these methods for. There were a few in his career where he gassed horribly.

I don't say that you should do what he does, I found it interesting to read that's all. It might be usefull insight nothing more. Ofcourse you shouldn't copy a routine en definetly not a that of a prof. fighter

I was just thinking out loud really. You may be suprised by the number of people who see a pro's routine and think "thats as good as it gets! I'll just do THAT routine"
