I agree

Jesse Owens couldn't even make the Olympic team today. It's the same with boxing. I always just look at Joe Louis, I say, You know what, he kind of slow. I'd tear him up.

People say, Joe Louis had twenty-five consecutive wins as a champion. That's because they didn't have videotape. You couldn't pick up his style unless you was in there with him.

Evander Holyfield Biography - Quotes from Evander Holyfield - Esquire

Well, Evander also said he can still be undisputed heavyweight champion of the world so, um, yeah.

Another great thread from DynamoGt. Pound for pound the worst poster on the internet.

Evander Holyfield has been hit in the head too many times,
and anybody who's followed his career is aware of the breakdown of this guy's mental faculties.
The fact that he says he'll continue to fight on until he wins the Championship again is evidence of this damage.

Oh, the thread.

The Brown Bomber, the Great Joe Louis, just as he was, would absolutely MURDER anybody in the division today including David Haye.

I would think Brad Man would love to see Joe Louis vs. David Haye. Fight for the ages, no?

I keed. Sit the fuck down and have a coke and a smile.

I agree with Holyfield. I say the top heavyweights from the 90's and 2000's beat all the pre-Ali/Frazier/Foreman era heavyweights. I'd bet on prime Holyfield, Bowe, Tyson, Lennox Lewis, and Vitali over Louis, Marciano, Jack Johnson, Liston, and Dempsey.

That's because you're an idiot, and I've become aware of that fact just with the few posts you've made in the last couple of days alone...

RE: you stating that Manny Pacquiao could outbox Anderson Silva in a boxing match...

Eh, f*<k it...

I'll get something off my chest that's been bothering me for years...

I was NEVER on the Evander Holyfield bandwagon.

Right from 1988 when he went up to heavyweight and I saw the 7 time (or was it 8 time ) Mr. Olympia bodybuilding champion Lee Haney "assisting" Holyfield as he bulked up to Heavyweight.

The preaching, the bible-thumping, all along as he basically cheated throughout his career and philandered with a few hundred women having kids all over the place, the arrogance that fans always talked of, I could never abide Evander Holyfield's sheer hypocrisy...and I remember Lennox Lewis calling him on that hypocrisy on national television too.

...and he never had heavyweight power neither...and he was dirty, a master at using his head to butt people in the eye...and two fat old warriors whose primes were respectively 12 years and 18 years earlier BOTH took a young prime Holyfield the 12 rd distance and won rds !!!

And I remember telling folks as Holyfield began his title run after stopping an unmotivated Buster Douglas that the reign would not be long. Foreman, Holmes, Bert friggin' Cooper...I said when Holyfield fights the real top contender which was Riddick Bowe, Holy will be dethroned and he WAS !
I admit I became a bit of a fan of Holyfield then because of the WAY in which he lost to Bowe...but those fights to me were still always tainted because I'd always think, "Could he have done it without the juice?" Hell, Smokin' Bert Cooper on short notice after a 5 week drinking bender almost pulled the upset on Holyfield that time.

Lennox Lewis waited a long while for his shot too, and eveybody knew Lennox would be too much for Holyfield.
Even as Holyfield has been screwed more than once by dirty politics, he's also certainly benefited from dirty politics more than once too.

This comeback smacked of cheating and politicking too because it all happened in Texas where they don't test.

How would Tyson/Holyfield have gone if it'd happened 5 years earlier too as it was planned?
In 1991, there were ads out promoting the fight for that Fall and photos of them squaring off for the cameras...but Tyson went to jail instead and the fight finally happened in 1996.

BOO !! HISS !!
