i was looking at his fight finder and he's lost 3 fights by decision, all split and one by armbar. guys had some bad luck with the judges, no wonder he tries to finish, i also noticed his first two losses were split decisions in which the fights were 3 3 minute rounds. shouldn't those fights be considered amateur? i thought all regulation pro mma bouts had to be 3 5 minute rounds?

He started small in the bum leagues, and he was probably a novice earlier in his career.

I doubt there is any relevance at all to anything he did more than a couple years ago. As of now, the guy is a world class fighter and has been for a year.

He's also 23 years old and started fighting when he was 18. At 23, he's already a young master.

Looks very promising. Would like to see him fight a top 20 fighter next or maybe TJ Dillashaw.

A fight with Chico Camus would be great. A fellow striker and not a huge step up. Perez could be gateway to Mexico/Spanish speaking countries so him winning is very important. Foreign prospects in underdeveloped MMA scenes are worth way more than an average prospect.

Did you watch his fights? I wouldn't comment on the judges in those fights if you haven't. He could have clearly lost the fights in which there were split decisions and one judge could have been incompetent. Melvin Guillard just lost a split decision. Fight finder is not a good research tool in that aspect.

decisions don't mean squat.

I would love to see him fight Scott Jorgensen.

he should won One split decision , judges mess up really. A fight with jorgensen would be awesome

Jorgensen might be a bit too soon for Perez. I like the idea of him having a slow rise. He's still a young kid, give him a fringe top ten or two. He's got plenty of time and he will only get better.

sorry sir. I didnt know who he was until his ko of ken stone and when I tried to look up his fights it only showed 2 of his BAMMA Fights on YouTube.

This guy is cool... hope he continues to do well and is built up at a decent speed. Don't want hype to ruin him.

He fights out of New Mexico... is he Jackson MMA?

Erik Perez is getting better and better with each fight and training in Greg Jackson's Gym is sure to make a him a complete fighter that can hold his own against all the top contenders at 135.

gracias. no tienes links para las demas de sus peleas? cuando las busque en youtube nomas salieron dos de sus peleas en BAMMA.

I was surprised some were giving a Bloodworth a chance, based on Perez struggling for nearly 1 round with John Albert.

Who HASN'T struggled for 1 round with John Albert? Menjivar did, so did Jorgensen.

Perez whooped Bloodworth, that elbow was the beginning of the end. Look forward to seeing him against other exciting up-and-comers like Cisco Rivera, Mitch Gagnon, T.J Dillashaw, Hugo Viana

I like him. looks like a really nice guy and exciting to watch. he could be a star if he keeps winning, specially because Cain's spanish is terrible and he can't coach the mexican TUF they seem to be planning for the next year.
