Although the career didn't last very long, the guy at least touched the NFL.

Where are the explosiveness and speed?

Really unimpressed with Erik. He looks strictly worse since the Lyoto fight. I have no idea who his opponent is. Even with the last second head kick that was borderline legal.

He's got the speed and power, but the movement and technique is not there at all.

he looked big and fast and explosive to me. all the things that check off the sherdog athleticism chart.

he just doesn't look like he can see the punches, or the kicks, or really anything coming. if you attack him you're going to hit him a lot. especially if you attack him early.

There is such a exageration on the athleticism of nfl players.... I mean you take football players like Lionel Messi, who is not even recognized by his top speed by no means... In the Nfl playoffs of 2017 ONly a single player run faster than him... He is like years removed from his prime too, short guy with short leg, by no means the fast footballer in the world (He had the most incredible acceleration i ever saw when he was younger.).

So Messi races with nfl players and only one player beat him? Or you just made that up?

That was actually from the next gen stats of the playoffs 2017-18 comparing with Messi top speed on la liga chart of the game vs. real madrid in season 17-18 (3x0).
Messi reached 33,59 km per hour (20,87 miles per hour), only Martavys Bryant did better during Nfl 17-18 playoffs with
20,99 miles per hour (33,78 km per hour.)
Football was once a unathletic sport, but theses days dudes are athletics as fuck... And they can't roid with reckless abadon like nfl.
Regular Season Leonard Fournett was the fastest dude with 22.05 mile per hour, fucking insane because the guy is huge.

I see the next gen stats during the regular season games, but the playoffs is only 12 teams, and the players they measure are guys who make a big play. I think only 2 nfl players they measure faster than 22mph was fournette 6’1 235, 22.05, and threek hill 5’10 185, 22.77. But these guys are bigger than Messi and most soccer (football) players so the strength difference would be huge seeing as they face stronger contact each game. Speed isn’t what separates nfl from other sports it’s speed and strength combined. I mean look at guys like Khalil Mack who weigh 250 shredded and run a 4.65 40 time with a 40 inch vertical and 23 reps of 225lb.

As i said before, Messi is not recognized by his top end speed at all and for some years is struggling physically... I was just using him as a example to show there is no such thing as a big athletic gap... Fournette, Bryant, Tyrek are young and on their athletic prime... Put some high em roids on the mix and the gap goes even smaller... nfl is full o freaks but let's not pretend that other non-american sports don't have athletes to match. The playoffs are the cream of the cream in terms of the best players. Football has more of a endurance componente so yeah players will be smaller, just like comparing 100m sprinter with a 400m guy.... Rugby has big guys that are athletics and they roid free too.
