My God have you EVER heard a more pencil-necked, nasally, pseudo-outraged liberal in your life? He literally wrote a “if we had a medical czar, this is what they should say” speech. He’s actually advocating for people to “revolt” because of the mask shortage? LOL?

The guy had the balls to go on JRE and argue that mass-media is more important than we all think and non-traditional media doesn’t do as much for foreign policy and investigative journalism? Really dude? 90% of CNN, NBC, and Fox content is biased, corporate dribble, and outlets like the Washington Post are direct corporate mouthpieces for Amazon and the like. But OH NO- theyre our saviors in these turbulent times.

Weinstein is such a badass he’s ready to overthrow the republic because Home Depot wasn’t forced to reallocate masks early enough

Gems from Weinstein:

“I just think that a millennial minority woman is the best person we could have as president right now. I just feel it”

“what do you do with a Winston Churchill if there’s no WW2 to win?”

he actually tried to say Jocko’s personality is shtick. Just wow. “We need to revolt” give me a break. This guy is like the perfect embodiment of the American metropolitan beta male

The Joe Rogan Experience is one of the great centres of pseudo-science learning. It probably has one of the dumbest demographics in the world.

I wouldn’t care too much about the political thoughts of some relatively unknown science academic.

can't stand Weinstein. there are times when he's OK, but he comes off as way too insecure & egotistical.

there's a clip out there where someone pronounces his name as "wine-steen" & his face drops with annoyance where he declares that it's "wine-STINE" haha

I like how he notes that people refer to him as a member of the "intellectual dark web", when he's the only one that ever talks about that. especially when he's the one that coined the term.

Yeah, Eric is a nerd(nttiawwt). His podcast is called “the portal” and he has some nerdy reason for that, forgot what it is. But yeah .

His brother, Brett, is much more interesting

Nailed it.

It's unfortunate this guy buys wholesale into the absurd liberal postmodernist elect-by-identity philosophy since he himself was one of the most famous victims of the deranged identity politics of the left several years ago. Perhaps that was karma; the snake eating its own tail, and all that.

*Edit*

Oh, nvm, that was Brett. I recognized his thumbnail from all his Twitter rantings in defense of his brother. Ironic that he was actually just defending his brother from his own dopplegangers.

thought a lot of his comments were pretty out there and stopped the podcast about half way through, though he did have some good points.

lets be clear, he was specifically saying that about tulsi gabbard, not generally millennial minority women. and considering tulsi called for government action on covid much earlier than it was taken, and considering she is the one who initially presented the stimulus bill after the economic shutdown, its hard to disagree that she likely would have handled this better.

Oh my God I just realized who his brother is- the guy came on JRE with his tail between his legs talking about identitarian cannibalism? Or was that Jamie Weinstein? Why are there so many weinsteins

haha yeah I was about to say. but Anung is right, his brother is more on the low-key side.

but RE: ouroboros, I'm inspired to make an Eric Weinstein 'shop of him eating his own shit, because it's so fucking apt - but scat & all haha.

Hey man- he said the words not me. The context was tulsi but he clearly explained why she’s qualified (her millennial female minority status)

Except that is not what he was saying at all. That quote is taken out of context. He was arguing that she should be put in charge because of her military background, experience, values, and because she is not owned and would not be corrupted by the establishment. She will get things done and not be compromised by the Democratic establishment.

His comments on her being a female minority millennial were to comment on the irony that she is the exact kind of candidate that the left claims to love and want more of, but they absolutely despise her.

Except he went on to say what was quoted in the OP, apparently, and you don't dispute that. This is a serious problem.

Just make the comments about military background and the rest. Leave it at that. The need to associate this with an identity rubric is corrosive. He participates in it. It betrays a manner in which he frames and perceives the world. It's sexist and ageist, but I'm sure he simultaneously perceives the stigmatic group-thinkers like "racists" to only be other people.

I'm sick of it. All of these tongue-cluckers need to take a good hard look in the mirror.

I thought the episode was interesting for the most part - particularly the proposed ulterior motives for early suggestions that people shouldn’t wear masks and for the slaying of all parties who got us into bed with China. Where he lost me a bit was his assertion that he’s been holding onto the next great revolution in theoretical physics. Through that whole section I wanted Joe to ask “Is there any part of you that thinks to yourself ‘I might be completely full of shit here’”

i cant say i remember what he said word for word, but that is definitely not how i recall either of them discussing the topic. i remember them talking about tulsi #1, being less influenced by corporate interests, #2 that she wouldnt be caught up in the hyper-liberal bullshit of calling someone xenophobic for wanting to block travel from a country with an epidemic outbreak. iirc, he thought it was exceptional that she would be his candidate of choice in this situation whilst being young/female/minority. not that her being young/female/minority was the reason he would want her in a position of power during this crisis.

It's people like Eric Weinstein that actually damage the causes he seeks to help and further.
