Can anyone tell me if there is any proof / writeups / article on this?
Earlier today whilst at work, a video appeared in my facebook feed, mentioning something about white privilege. It was a long video that I didn't have time to watch due to being at work, but was most certainly interested enough in to want to watch later.
Well, later has now come and good luck finding said video. I've been scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and it's nowhere to be found, whilst I come across constant repeats of stuff I've been seeing for days.
I don't have a dog in this fight, I'm not a loyal member of any side or viewpoint, but I do like to have access to all opinions and stories, regardless of their source.
Am I imagining things and it's reasonable for someone to say that said video disappeared off the face of the earth? Or are the algorithms that determine what I see and don't see playing against me here?
And part two, does any of it matter? If our social media overlords are private companies with the ability to use our / their information as they see fit (not an American, I don't understand how this works exactly), does that mean that they're free to decide what we do and don't see when browsing webpages that they own?
