Okay so I'm sure there have been threads about this before but thought it needs some revisiting. In late 2013 are fighters still under the impression that throwing up there hands as if to celebrate a win after a full fight may sway the judges decision? I mean, after the fight is completed isn't it safe to assume the judges have already made their decision based on the actual fighting? Also it is just insulting when a fighter who has clearly put on a mediocre performance or worse has clearly lost a fight acts as if he's won and is proud of his performance. What are your thoughts on the subject?

I just don't get why you put GSP's pic on this. I mean c'mon, he might not finished some fights in years but we might not see GSP lose a decision ever

Like when Ellenberger did when he fought against Rory? I find it ridiculous that a fighter does that when they clearly lost the fight.

Makes no sense at all. I lost a lot of respect for Jake after he did that and how much trash he was talking before the fight.

Yeah that's what I mean and I feel the same way. It's lame and really disrespectful to the opponent.

Yep.

I mean overall it was a boring fight, but to have the nerve to raise your hands after a poor performance? The entire crowd was booing the fight pretty much from the end of round 1 until round 3.

My buddy who does not watch UFC fights very often was confused why the loser raised his hands. :icon_lol:

IIRC, in the vera-jardine fight, greg jackson said to keith to "act like you won the fight". i think it helped tho as he won a split decision. i think celebrating after a really close 3rd round helps a bit in swaying the judges' decision.

I think its annoying but its a minor thing. Personally i would rather see a fighter admit that he lost the fight and the judges were insane.

The best was Chuck vs Jardine. Chuck put his hands up after the final bell, and the fans start booing him, lol. Fisrt time and maybe the only time I can remember Chuck getting the boos.
