End of an era: Andrei Arlovski is no longer with UFC

He really overstayed his welcome. It had gotten so bad that his presence on cards would actually piss me off.

Put some respek on arlovski’s name.
First time I heard of ufc was one of my classmates watching his highlights in school. In his championship run in the ufc he was truly scary. Remember that one fight he slept his opponent and out nobody could even see the punch that handed, he was faster than anyone else at HW

Confirmed signed to this new GFL company. Didn’t know he was released til I saw this. His most recent ufc run was a full 10years long. Will always be a fan!

Ps- Alex Gustaffson also no longer with ufc. Wishin him well, too

Arlovski wasn't with the UFC since his last fight. Everyone done knew that then.

GFL is taking the scraps that the PFL doesn't even want to sign. I don't think you can run shows by just throwing money at it. Even ONE started out as a semi popular casino show in Asia. The GFL is run by a former PFL guy and they are still adopted some goofy team format. We seen this in MMA before. Nobody wants team format. It's not a team sport.

Thats a savage take about an OG of the sport my man
He turned the last years of his career into a grift though. Cashing fat checks to either do cautious sparring against guys who shouldn’t even have been in the UFC or quickly folding against anyone slightly good. From his perspective it was a smart move financially but from a fans perspective it was terrible and it tarnished his legacy too (if that even matters)

You could argue I spose he'd earnt it with his earlier career though although unlike most UFC HW's of that era he did actually get a serious payday vs Fedor(wasnt it 2 million+ or something?).

Back in the mid/late 00's I think he was definately one of the best HW's to watch though.
