What was the worst technique or mistake you have ever seen an experienced grappler make?
I'll kick it off with Sperry vs Zinoviev, an old-school classic example of how not to take someone's back standing.

Oliveira mistaking Jim Miller for somebody who won't just snatch his shit.

I'm guessing the OP ment grapplers making grappling mistakes.

Kind of a mix but Jean Silva droping that spinning kick on Imanrai...

Perhaps not "elite" but Jean Silva was an excellent grappler yet facing arguely the best leglock fighter in MMA history he basically feeds him his leg.

Yup. Miller is not a game. He'll make you look like a bozo if you don't take his ability to sub you seriously.

GSP not knowing how to finish an armbar against Dan Hardy.

Enrique Marin isn't an elite grappler by any means, but iirc he's a black belt, and he had Northcutt dead to rights in both a kimura and an armbar and then got sloppy.

Also Beneil Dariush, who is legitimately world class, underestimating Chiesa's ability to take backs and choke fools.

Nog has some awful guillotine attempts. Against Werdum I think he fucked up trying one as well.
