I would get one but I'm too young to be paying insurance for 2 vehicles. And I'm not about to own one as my only car cuz it's ugly as sin. Maybe one day when I'm in my 30s and I buy my future dream ride lol.

It honestly is an amazing deal for people that like to be smart with their money. You spend the same amount as a used car but without the reliability concerns for the first couple of years since its new.

Also, keep in mind, insuring it is cheaper than your average car. Because you can insure it with cheap motorcycle insurance. So it makes it super affordable.

No. There's enough room for two 6'5"+ people to fit comfortably, both in the front AND rear.

I was thinking of getting two as well. That way I can have two cool colors. Also, they'd be hella fun for cruising in. You could drive from Oregon to LA on one tank and still have a little left over when you get there. But you could also just drive them both to the same location, because gas is so cheap. Enjoy cruising there together. Would be awesome.

But the first thing I thought of when I saw the tandem seats was:

Gotta say, that thing looks awesome. I have been wondering what to look at, as my corolla is coming up on 10 years. As someone with no kids or family, this thing looks pretty great. I was looking at hybrids, but honestly this seems better in almost every way, other than not being a 5 seater like most cars. Thanks for the post Adamant, gonna have to look into this thing more.

Also, guys, if you need a nice car to pull pussy, you need to up your game.

Oh, no question. This thing will get better MPGs in the City than a Corolla will get on the highway. Overall, probably much better than the Hybrids too.

Like I've said, there's just too many positives to this for me to not get one.

Also, be sure to check out the videos in the OP. Lots of good info.

Those wheel covers are gonna gather snow and ice, but I guess you could use more open covers for winter.

They're easily removeable. You just unscrew a bolt and clean it out (if you have to).

I hate driving (I'd probably enjoy it if I lived out in the boonies where no one was around), but all the stats look good and I liked riding my dirt bike when I had one and would prefer the smaller size and better turning and handling of something like this. Only problem could be getting groceries. I have a small truck for bigger hauls.

Useless for what I need a vehicle for.

imo The only really interesting thing about this is the low price.

The cool thing is, you can reserve one now for $100 bucks. Simple as that.

I've had my eye on this for a couple of years now. They keep pushing back its release date.

I would completely get one, looks awesome. And I have a motorcycle license as well just in case I'll end up needing one. Which I might.

I love small vehicles. I will be a little worried about its quality, so buying a completely new car model like this will be a bit worrying.

If you want to make impression on a first date, this car will do the trick.

Yeah, but they are finally drawing down now. Things are in place and they are really really close to being done.

You wont. As of right now, this car is fully legal without anything more than a basic license in at least 45 states. Possibly more, but the last I heard was 45. But that was several months ago. The Elio company is hard at work and has said they are close to being legal with a basic license in all 50 states. No helmet or motorcycle license necessary.

It has a mild-steel alloy on the outside of the vehicle to absorb impact, and the shell/frame of the vehicle is a super hardened alloy to prevent crushing (stronger than what's in most cars). It also comes with full seatbelts and front and side airbags.

It also has a 5 Star Crash Rating in every single category. Literally can't beat that.

    No worries.

Why not? It's got full ABS brakes, front and back. You saw it driving on a snowy road.

Obviously it's not meant to drive through deep snow, or anything crazy, like an F-250 Turbo Diesel Super Duty, but it can clearly get through anything you're gonna find on a city street.
