In case you have concerns about the integrity of the current election, here is the main person who you should blame:

Mitch McConnell blocks election security legislation
    BY KATHRYN WATSON

    UPDATED ON: JULY 26, 2019 / 5:28 PM / CBS NEWS

...Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked the advancement of legislation to secure the nation's election system. Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith also blocked a set of bills on election security Wednesday.
    ...
McConnell's blocking of the legislation also comes as the Senate Intelligence Committee released a report identifying significant vulnerabilities — like aging voting equipment, paperless machines without backups and insecurity voter registration basis — exist in the United States' election system.

Mitch wanted to make it easier for his team to try and steal elections.

Trying to think why they would vote against these bills unless. What other reason is there for it? It just created a situation like this were things are disputed

I haven't read the bill yet but I would recommend it before judging.

Sometimes these bills have bullet points that sound great but then in the fine print it has riders and shit that they try to sneak in, and often times that's why people vote against bills.

I have no idea if that's what happened in this specific instance, but just saying reserve judgment til we know.

I have looked at the reasons mentioned by McConnell for blocking efforts to improve the election integrity. None of them offer any real issues with the legislation. If there were actually issues, he would be sure to mention them. The only issue for McConnell was that these bills were put forth by democrats. He doesn't want democrats to get any "points" for getting something good accomplished. When McConnell was challenged to put up their own bill, we got nothing.

Therefore McConnell doesn't want our elections to be secure.

The GOP was really insistent in making sure that no election security bills get passed. They blocked three more earlier this year:

    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/482569-senate-gop-blocks-three-election-security-bills

The Securing America's Federal Elections, or SAFE, Act — the third bill Democrats tried to clear — authorizes more funding for the Election Assistance Commission and includes language that would ban voting machines from being connected to the internet and being produced in foreign countries.

The excuse for blocking it, again, is nothing but shitty politics, with no regard for integrity of our democracy:
"Blackburn accused Democrats of trying to move the bills knowing that GOP lawmakers would block them and giving them fodder for fundraising efforts."

What did they actually have against the legislation? Crickets.

You watching Trump? He's melting down. It's funny to watch. What a sad excuse for a human.

    Alright, that is BS.

February 2019, President Donald Trump's nominees Benjamin Hovland and Donald Palmer were appointed as commissioners to the EAC by the Republican-led senate. That was before this Election Security Act bill was rejected by McConnell.
    https://www.eac.gov/news/2019/02/06/commissioners-hovland-palmer-sworn-restore-quorum-eac
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Election_Assistance_Commission

Are you not aware that mail-in ballots are also counted by machines? Security on those doesn't matter? Just read through the actual bill, and if you have any sort of intelligence to understand security, you would think that it's an embarrassment and crazy that we don't have those kind of security measures for our election, at the very minimum.
