Back at work today. Still cant lift, probably be another week at least. Hope I dont lose what little progress I have made.
 
Went back to the gym today! Tried to keep everything real light. Felt pretty good after. Back is a little sore but its "havent worked out for 2 weeks" sore, not "injured sore"

Health
Doing pretty good. Dr. upped my prednisone which makes me feel a lil weird sometimes.

Had my colonoscopy yesterday. Went as well as a camera up your ass can go I guess. Dr. said no polyps, which is good but that its pretty much completely ulcerated. Which is bad. Took a couple biopsies so Ill know more on the 19th.

First time I have done this WO since my back injury. Went pretty well tho I was really nervous doing the deads. They went ok tho. Sucks having to take weight back off the bar after making progress but I just told myself to ease back in. By the end of this week I will be back on track and can hopefully get back to making gains next week.

Switched from DB rows to BOR's today. Dunno why, just wanted to. Seems like a more efficient movement and quite honestly, I just wasnt liking the DB rows lately. With that said tho, Im sure my form was shit and I didnt really know how much weight to use but I think it went ok for a first time. Would love some good vid suggestions if anyone has any.

Gonna try and grab a run in the morning pre-work and then back in the gym Wednesday.

This was the first time I ever did them. To be honest I was kinda avoiding them because they look like they would hurt my back. Odd that the first time I do them is my second wo after a back injury. I really wanna focus on strengthening my lower back tho, so I figure if I can get it involved in 1 more lift then that will help a little.

Shitty day at the gym. After 2 weeks, 2 work outs and a rough day at work, I was pretty sure my back was all better. So I go in this morning to squat, Warm ups go good and while preparing for my work sets, I put a 45 plate on the bar and have a spasm in my lower back. Same place as the muscle pull. Didn hurt too bad but after walking around a little and doing a few bw squats, I decided to skip the squats. Of course then I'm all head fucked and wind up doing shitty on my bench as well.

Since I work Friday anyway, I think I will put off my next WO till Saturday. Give my back another day.

Anyone have a good "warm up" exercise for squats? I always do them first so that I have plenty of gas but I"m wondering if I shouldnt do something else light weight just to get my lower back loose and warm. Right now I am just doing 5 minutes on the elliptical, trying to stretch and then do a few bw squats, then the SS warm up template.
 
Wife wanted to go to the gym this morning so I tagged along. Did about 30 minutes on the elliptical. My cardio has gone to shit.

Back is still sore. May skip my WO tomorrow to give it some more rest. I picked up a half shift on Saturday so I could hit the gym Sunday and go Sun, Tue, Thur, next week.

Gotta do more cardio!

Felt good. Back was a lil tight but seemed to get better as WO went rather than worse. Feels fine now about 1hr later.

Felt sooooo good to make some gains for the first time in a month. Kinda makes me wonder what could have been but oh well.

Gonna have to dig deep to get in my wo Wednesday. Its a work day which means up at 4 or no WO!

Gotta go to the Dr. tomorrow. I am symptom free right now! Hoping for another year or so of remission. Laddering down the prednisone, off of the hydrocordisone, and expect the Dr. to reduce my Lialda dose as well. Since I am healthy I am looking at this as a fresh start. Back is better, gut is better. Looking to make good use of this Holiday food and pack on some muscle and get strong by New Years!

Also started a new schedule. I have been failing miserably at doing the M,W,F thing. Not only missing lifting WO's but also almost never doing cardio. My new schedule is this.

ONly problem is that I dont get an off day. I mean, I get an off day from working out on the days I work. But I dont get a "off" day from everything. I'm sure I will have to take a few tho. I will be out of town this weekend and I should be able to squeeze in a run but I wont be lifting Sunday. Just have to take it as it comes I suppose.

I'm not dead just been crazy lately. Cant seem to stay healthy enough to make much progress. Didnt lift between 11/30 and 1/8. Combination of yet another back injury followed by the flu, followed by the holidays. Back on it now tho and I'm going to pick back up on my log.

First time I have used a staggered stance on my OHP. Weight didnt really feel any lighter but I was much more stable.
