Posted my first form check.


I missed my WO yesterday cause my son decided to act a fool at school and I got a call right before I was leaving for the gym. Which sucked because I didnt have a car this morning, so I got my wife to drop me off at the gym, did my work out and ran hom. 1.7m. It sucked! Squats+run+90 degrees is a bitch! I made it tho so its all good.

Started the SCD diet yesterday. Felt ok today but damn I missed my PWO shake. I hade a left over beef pattie instead with a lil cheddar cheese and homemade ketchup. I dunno if that is proper PWO nutrition but it was better than nothing I guess.

Gonna run tomorrow and lift again Saturday.

No workout today:( My stupid car broke down and my wife had to go out of town so I'm stuck at home. I could do something here but after being pretty sick this week and working my shift last night, I think I'm just gonna be lazy. Ill get back at it tomorrow.

3rd day on the new diet. Going pretty well. Food isnt as big a deal as liquids are. I guess a lot of people drink only water but after 3 days of nothing but, I would really like a cherry coke right now. Or a beer.

Diet is still going good. I have probably added 30% or so to my protein intake.
 
Weighed 192 this morning. From a start of 213. Hopefully I can drop another 10 or so pretty quick, see what I'm working with and go from there.

I do hope I can come off of this diet soon tho. I am dropping weight, which is great for now but in another month or so, I wont be needing to lose any more. I am afraid I will have a really hard time gaining on this diet.

Really feel weak and embarrassed with my bench.

Weighed 190 yesterday but went off of the diet. If I am going to be sick anyway I just dont see the sense and being THAT restrictive on my diet.
 
Also ran a nice easy mile yesterday with the wife. Not really a work out but the weather was great and I enjoyed it.

Also took a hike with the family. Hiked up Mt. Cheaha. Bout a 3.5-4m hike but it was really vertical. Good work out.

Felt good to squat with big boy weights! Sure, its just 135lbs but it was still nice to use the big plates. Even if its just 2.

Ran 1m at about a 12 minute pace.

Wont be doing anything this weekend. Work the high school football game tonight, my 24hr shift tomorrow, then 12 hours at a motorcycle race Sunday.

Not sure what Im doing with my diet. I'm a lil confused. Now that I am down to 190 I'm at a bit of a cross roads. On one hand, I still got a lil love handle action going on that I would like to lose. On the other hand, now that the rest of my upper body is pretty lean, I can really see the deficiencies. I REALLY want to add some mass. So, the question remains. Diet for another month, lose the love handles, or just jump straight into getting bigger.

Since cool weather is coming, I am leaning towards just getting bigger. Drink some milk and get strong.
 
Also started taking Prednisone 2 days ago. Didnt seem to effect my WO today and I really hope that it doesnt in the future. Possible side effects are: fatigue, weakness, muscle soreness. Not to mention weight gain. I'm on a pretty low dose for now tho so maybe it wont cramp my training too much.

Woke up about 3am Monday morning sick as a dog so that pretty much ruined my planned WO at 5:00. Instead I got there at about 5:45PM. Holy Shit! Talk about a different planet! There was people every freakin where.

WO went real well tho. Squats are starting to get heavy tho, may need to scale back to +5lb per WO pretty soon.

When I was ready to bench there was a whole gang of huge guys swapping out on the 2 benchs. Like 8 guys taking turns doing 200+. So rather than just hang around and wait, I did the unthinkable. I used a machine thingy. It was one of those that uses real free weights so maybe that is a lil better but it still felt real weird. Luckily it shouldnt be a problem in the future. The benches arent too crowded at 5am!

Put in about 20 minutes on the elliptical while I waited on my wife to pick me up. I am sick of doing the one vehicle thing! Luckily I should have my new (to me) truck in a week or so. I am kinda proud tho that I havent let the lack of vehicle stop me from making my WO's, even tho that has meant some early trips and even jogging home a couple times.

WO was good today. Felt pretty strong. Still adding 10lb per WO on my Deads and dont really feel like I am close to stopping that progress, OHP is hard but I'm still making my 5lb per WO, this week even seemed a lil easier than last. DB rows were actually a little tough this time though, my grip in my left had seemed weak. Not sure what I will do about that. Do some grip work? change to a different row variation? hope that doing deads and rows will just strengthen it? Dunno yet. Any tips would be nice.
 
Congratulations on quitting smoking. I smoked for about 10 years and quit just before my 30th birthday. The smell of cigarettes makes me nauseous now.

Thanks. Yeah Im pretty proud of that. Still miss it sometimes but its been like 4 months now I think and I dont see myself ever smoking again.
 
FUCK!!!!!

Hurt my back today. Coming up in rep 2 of my last warm up squat set something pulled. Barely got the weight racked and now can hardly stand.

Hope it heals quick. Gonna give a couple days of rest and flexeril.
 
is this because of flexibility? i can tell you that flexibility helped me a ton on my squat and back pain. ever since then my back feels better than ever.

Dunno. Dunno if i wasnt paying attention and my form broke or what. Like I said I was near the top of my last warm up rep of 120. Felt fine to that point and I just felt a sharp pain in my lower left lumbar. I got the weight racked but after that it just kinda cramped up.

I actually have a pretty rough history with my back and have had this same injury twice before. Oddly enough I have always felt better when I am lifting. Usually I hurt it when I get out of shape. Once I sneezed while kinda twisted shutting a bathroom door and messed it up for like a month lol.

I dont think it was flexibilty thing cause like i said, it wasnt during a PR or even a work set. It was a f'n warm up.

I think it was either just a freak thing or I wasnt paying attention and leaned forward.
