He is 38 years old...He is done as a top contender as far as Im concerned.

He might as well be a senior citizen at the weight class. I had a feeling Ortega was going to win, the guy always seems to find a way to win.

He can pull another few cards, maybe headline a couple before retiring

Testosterone City won that fight. Awesome.

.... is done. The same thread every card when someone loses, he’ll be back, he is in no way finished, he will stick around for some more fun fights.

First time he's stopped in his career, and he's done?

calm the fuck down. he was doing good, then he got caught by that sick elbow.

Things like this happen in professional fighting.

I wouldn’t mind him dropping down a division , Ortega looked huge next to him

He was winning the round and he did recover pretty fast (albeit it was a good stoppage)

He's not done

TBH it's impressive he remained competitive even this long. Truly one of the toughest and greatest motherfuckers to ever step in the cage.

WAR Frankie

dumb casual fans who dont train say things like this frankie has been dominating and just fought a guy who was 20 pounds larger than him look at that size different clearly Frankie shouldn't be at 145 which is his fault like chad mendes as well franke never loses a fight against a man of his size i hope he drops to 135 next fight

when he hits brian with 4 over hand rights and he drops with 1 shot size really does matter at lower weights

Prime Edgar would have taken that elbow and kept coming.....

Edgar is clearly done. He's been in the game for more than 12 years...Thats 12 years of constant sparring and fighting. He's taken a lot of damage in the Maynard fights albeit won the last one, but nonetheless he has taken a llot of damage

These old fighters stay on top with legacy ranking. All they do is fight each other stay in top 5 and keep young tigers out.

Soon as one rises - which the usually dont because young tigers have to win 11 in a row - like max or ortega - old fighters get waxed.

I knew Ortega would wax frankie justt like Max with Aldo - and look at aldo now still fucking #1 dispite getting wrecked twice in row.

Legacy ranks are total BS.

Edgar is 36 (very old for FW/LHW) and has remained Top 5 much longer than other fighters of his era (Gil Melendez, Bendo, Maynard, etc.) However, Father Time creeps up on all fighters, and now it's Frankie's turn. I'd rather see him retire (now or after one more fight). I'm tired of seeing fighter go on 3-5 years past their best days.

hes 36 might as well be 38 after that KO... sucks man i feel really fkn bad, cant believe i jsut saw that happen.. honestly this might sound dumb but im surre some of u will know what i mean.... when i saw that bear/gotee on him it made me worry.

He's 36.

Way to write off a man who's been complete badass and still is. Is this what we are reduced to, telling someone to retire because they lost?

Ortega is just a savage. He's dangerous. Edgar can still beat a lot of guys who can't grapple like Ortega. He should go to 135.

Frankie just murdered Yair Rodriguez. How was that a legacy fight?

{<huh}

Na Frankie will edge out a couple of wins again then get another undeserved title shot. He cant compete the top 2 at 145 now
