IMO that flying knee was such a pimp move. I can't believe so many of you really thought that this guy was a boring fighter! I love seeing guys do that shit after a guy is hurt. It shows that the fighter is really going after that finish. That knee probably didn't help him get the finish too much but I do think that it hurt RDA a bit more. I mean RDA ended up on top of Eddie I think in side control or something close and Eddie basically just sat up! RDA was really out of it, and this leads in to my opinion on the stoppage. RDA was getting so lit up that Herb recognized that this fight was over. Eddie was connecting with huge shots even after RDA was already very out of it. So Herb waved off the fight and RDA just stumbled away without objecting at all. That isn't a bad stoppage. Seems like some Herb haters just wanted to make a fuss.

I wouldn't have been opposed to the fight going on a bit longer, when the fight was called off RDA seemed fine and coherent.

Anyone who has followed Alvarez prior to his UFC career knows he's about as exciting as it gets (not to mention, the Cerrone fight was still awesome).

There's gonna be so many bandwagon Eddie fans now

Only mouth breathing autists thought Eddie was a boring fighter. Judging a dudes fight quality off two fights where he can implement a style that isnt common for him and judging him by that is the height of retardation. Ignoring his body of work, giving us some of the greatest fights in LW history from Joachim, Kawajiri, Chandler fights, etc.

I was was freaking out. I thought Eddie blew his chance when he landed on his back after the knee. RDA was still rocked so Edide slipped from his grasp, got back to his feet, and started landing again.

ARUVEREZUUUUUU

It was a strange stoppage by Herbal Dean. But he was getting murked.

I had intense flashbacks to Arlovski/Fedor when I saw his charge.

Thankfully things worked out a bit better this time lol

Alvarez had always been an amazing fighter. Hopefully people figured that out tonight

Pretty crazy that Eddie has beat, Gil, Pettis, and rda. Dude is probably the most underrated lw of all time when it comes to the greats.

Sometimes people just don't want to whine and complain and don't want to put on some show. The fight is over anyways. I thought it could have last a bit longer,RDA was standing, hands up and was trying to react and recover.

Because losing your title is nothing to be upset about right?

Hands were up but not blocking anything. Unless you wanted to see a Warren vs Curran situation.

The knee was spectacular and I think it may have landed well - has anyone had a gif of it yet from a different angle than the broadcast?

It could have conceivably went on a bit longer. Really though, the stoppage was perfectly justified.

And I do believe RDA would have reacted to some extent if he truly thought it was a bad stoppage, simply out of frustration. Even the robot that is Fedor made some comments about the Hendo stoppage, and stared at the ref after being stood up.

RDA, if asked, probably would say he could have kept going. But he probably realized that it was a justifiable stoppage.
